Partly because of the fall of the dollar and the rise of the Danish krone, Copenhagen is now the second most expensive city in the world to live in, only beaten by Oslo. If you count for housing costs, Copenhagen is #5, beaten only by London, New York, Oslo and Tokyo.
Cheapest major cities in the world are still Buenos Aires, Karachi and Mumbai (formerly Bombay).

. Personally my cost to buy DVDs in the US have falled with 25% in the last few years (so guess Bush was good for something after all), and i havent been nailed in that time.

Well as an example, Winnow (ignoring import taxes which are at least 25% on almost all goods):
So anywhere from 20 to 40% to save, easily.
Code: Select all
Item Danish price US (Newegg) price
Samsung 910T flatscreen $612.87 $467
Asus 6800GT V9999/GT256 $563.67 $419
Pentium 4 3.6GHz 800MHz FSB $792.57 $624
iPod mini (blue) 4GB $295.52 $199

Just for a silly comparison: Canadian (Toronto)prices:
Samsung 910T flatscreen $599
Asus 6800GT V9999/GT256 $569
Pentium 4 3.6GHz 800MHz FSB $539
iPod mini (blue) 4GB $225
$1932 total
With the current exchange rate that works out to around $1560 USD.... heh, about $150 cheaper.

BTW, I think it's cool that you guys have someone wearing a hat on your bills. I don't think we've had anyone wearing a hat on U.S. Currency.

The man on that bill is Carl Nielsen, noted Danish composer. Other people on danish bills include Karen Blixen and Niels Bohr.
