Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb

Okay, so I've been a fan of Kubrick's since... well, that's hard to say. Probably since I first watched Full Metal Jacket, as I think that was the first of his movies that I ever saw, but I haven't seen anything that he's done that I haven't liked. I finally sat down and watched Dr. Strangelove last night and I thought it was absolutely fantastic.

Peter Sellers is (was) always amazing and he was hilarious in this. I knew he was the British Executive Officer and Dr. Strangelove, but I didn't realize until later that he was also the President. I also highly enjoyed George C. Scott's performance. I'd heard of the movie a million times and never realized it would be that funny. It definitely is going to move to my list of favorite movies, and though I know that it's been mentioned here numerous times in other peoples' lists of favorites, I thought it warranted it's own thread for those people who have never seen it.

I think my favorite part was the President's phone conversation with the Russian Premier, so funny.

LOL, I love that part too.

Speaking of Peter Sellers, ever catch The Life and Death of Peter Sellers with Geoffery Rush? That was such a great documentry. They go into why he agreed to do Dr. Strangelove too.

The movie is a masterpiece, simply put, and should be watched by all.

I saw this again not too long ago beacuse my wife had never seen it.

Call it silly slapstick but I was crying, aqain, when he slammed his hand onto his face. Easily one of the funniest performances of all time.

"The Life and Death of Peter Sellers" was pretty good. but it wasnt a documentary =).
