Mafia 3. Endgame.

No holds barred discussion. Someone train you and steal your rare spawn? Let everyone know all about it! (Not for the faint of heart!)

Mafia 3. Endgame.

Post by Akaran_D »

Ok folks - blood is back in the water. The City of Sanctuary has once again fallen under a horrible plight, and mafia are running freely around - capping citizens, robbing old ladies, sticking kittens in trees.

Not to mention they killed Kenny. The bastards.

Only two modifications to the ruleset this time. The three day grace period is being lowered to two. Also, to avoid a problem like last round where it was impossible to determine when exactly one particular mafia stopped playing, BOTH mafia members of each team will be required to send me their agreed upon kills. (If you miss one, it's no big. Life happens. Miss two in a row - key word row - you'll have some issues.)

If any player misses more than two consecutive days (game lasts ~1 week as it is) I promise that people will remember how much you looked like a bit of pizza pie across the forum banner.

I am also going to strongly encourage the citizenship to start saying who they think the mafia is. This will not be done anonomously in a PM - please post this. It's a bitch when everyone stays quiet. ;)

That being said.

Citizens: Try to figure out who the Mafia are, but at the same time stay alive. During every game day, there will be a trial. Try to vote wisely.

Detective: Your job is to bring the Mafia to justice. At the beginning of each day I will ask for who you wish to bring to trial. Send me your choice, and it shall be so. You are allowed to present evidence, which I will reword to prevent writing style analysis at each trial. Should you die, the game will end, and the Mafia will kill all the townspeople. Not being found out is a good thing. Obviously all communications with me of this nature should be done in PM. Posting "I wanna bring nobody to trial" in the forum thread is a bad thing.

Mafia: Your job is to kill everyone including the detective. Each game night, you should confer with your partner and PM me who the mafia kills. Please work together. Remember, if you two think logically together, you have an advantage. I don't want to see Mafia A telling me to off Jose, and then Mafia B telling me to off Billy. Come to a consensus before PMing me please. Should you succeed in killing off the detective, you win and get to kill off all the townsfolk.

NOTE: I do take requests for methods of execution. This includes you Detective.

With that explanation, I will begin signups. Post an acknowledgement or "I'm in" or something here. Signups will end 6PM PST Monday, at which point I will make my choices and the Mafia will make their first kill.

I'm upping the pot. 1k VV's from me are now on the line. Feel free to add more. EDIT: This is NOT required.

There are also two GMs this round. Fash will be responsible for making sure all trials, daytimes and nighttimes occur when they are supposed to. Mafia / Detectives - you will be sending me your kill orders.

If anyone has a question, feel free to PM me. I will then post a rule clarification without listing your name, if you're worried about fallout from a decision.

Like last game, there may be multiple teams of Mafia. For every two mafia, there will be one detective. Trials per day are going to depend on how many sign up and are assigned as cold blooded killers.

Couple extra rules that were in place last game, but were answered in private.

Yes - the detective AND the mafia can admit to their status to others, either on the thread OR in pms. Any player may send another player a message or even VV's to convince them to change their votes. However, there is no rule for bribery - if you bribe someone, they Don't have to vote your way and they won't be punished for not doing so. If you ask someone, again, they don't have to do it. I recommend this only as a last resort.. once you send a PM, you just opened yourself up to a world of pain.

If someone goes inactive, I'll post, I promise. There will be no guesswork.

I will Not say who killed who until the very end. Don't ask.

I don't take bribes. I now have more VVs than what I know what to do with.

More clarifications - 2/26, while I think of them.
Citizens: You win if the detective wins. The pot is split with some VVs going to the citizenry, the rest going to the detective(s).
Detective: You win only when All mafia loses.
Mafia: You win only when All detectives AND opposing teams are dead.

Scenario: All detectives die. There are 3 mafia in 3 teams left standing. Every morning, EACH citizen will be required to send me a list of two players. The two people with the most votes gets lynched - there will be no defense, or trial. Public hanging or whatnot will ensue. If all mafia die in this manner, then the entire citizenship splits the pot. However.. this is not an advised way to win. ;)

Let the signups begin.

Pot for Game 3 is now at 5,195 VV's.
Signups END 8PM PST Monday, Feb 28.

edit: upped the time for Signups. Forgot I had somthing special monday that won't let me be home until late.

Too often it seems it is the peaceful and innocent who are slaughtered. In this a lesson may be found that it may not be prudential to be either too peaceful or too innocent. One does not survive with wolves by becoming a sheep.
