Niceness, thanks Winnow, needed a place to get the last episodes of Rising Start, after they finally started making them again.

If you just need single issues, check out their DC++ server (you need 5GB of comics to share first though) It's the best way to grab specific issues you may need.

Otherwise, check out the new DCP torrent releases on tracker 4 every few days. Downloading those is a nice way to check out current titles to see if you might like them. If you don't do this already already, you can use torrent apps like Azureus to download individual files out of a torrent:

Wow, what a show last night. I won't spoil anything but I am kind of bummed that next week is repeats and most likely the week after that due to the holidays.

Hehe, 5 GB is nothing, i got 9 GB sorted, not including my own sorting on online comics .). Getting 5 years of daily comics ARE easier in a pack than in the archives :)

I'm addicted to downloading comic books now. I already have about 35GB of Comics and only started a little over a month ago. The total number of comics is roughly about 3,500 of them. I've read about 50 so far. hehe. I'm going through the Gen13 (Image/Wildstorm) series start to finish which had about 70 issues in volume 1 but had mini series special issues galore, also v2 and v3 series and a bootleg series. About 170 altogether. The series has gone downhill though since J Scott Campbell left. His artwork rocks and the writer left as well leaving a much more lifeless comic.

The nice thing about the torrent packs some put together on the above site is that they put together artist packs and writer packs that include all works from a particular person regardless of issue or company. I've found that useful in tracking down good comics as it's more the artist and storyteller than the characters in the book that make it worthwhile for me.

I downloaded the entire Marvel Ultimate universe comic set and want to see how that is. I enjoy quality comics but seem to have so little time to read them. It's been 17 years since I stopped collecting so there's so much out there to check out.

hehe, i dont just go for whatevers out there, or Marvels current superhero story #117 part 2, verions 4, alternate reality 2.

Im mainly sticking to graphic novels, and stories i know to be quality. (know to be quality now that is, hell, liked X-Men as a kid, but the last 3 collections i read were horrible, X-Men/X-Force/X-Gen/X-whocares by far outlived their interest span.)

Was there no episode of Lost last week? I can't seem to find episode 15 as it should have been anywhere.

Ok, here's my theory on what's going on:

Locke was obviously the first to realize the nature of the island, namely, that it is a sort of (benign?) purgatory. The people will remain marooned there until they cast off the things from their old lives that have been holding them back (Locke: his physical limitations, Michael: his angst about being a father, Jack: Letting go of his 'betrayal' of his dad, Sayid: his remorse about what he did, Charlie: the addiction, etc etc etc.). Ethan Rom (an anagram for 'Other Man') is a construct of the collective conscious of the maroonees, possibly strengthened by Walt's (latent) psychic abilities (see "crash exotic bird into window", "summoning: bear, polar" and "mad knife throwing abilities"). Ethan represents the FORCES OF EVIL OMG - he is Locke's counterpoint. Perhaps Claire's baby will come to be a counterpoint to Walt - afterall, Locke taught him (and us) that it is all about black vs white.

I've got a ton more <tinfoil hat> speculations but I'll wait until the Feb 9th episode has aired to share them!

Bonus info: On the 'Alias' episode that aired after Lost #13 (I think), Driveshaft's 'You All Everybody' played in a club...

my theory is that is is a spin off of an old star trek episode (the oroginal) titled the white rabbit

http://trekguide.com/padd/tos17.htm

think about it, jack bringing merri back after finding him hanging in the jungle, the polar bear, jack seeing that guy in a suit on the island (incedently that episode was titled "the white rabbit"), and lock being able to walk. i'm hooked on this show and can't stand all the rerun's.

Thought about it, disagree.

The title white rabbit is in relation to the Alice in Wonderland story, not the Star Trek episode. Jack's white rabbit in this case was his father. Every time he saw him, he had to go chase him, much like what Alice did. The ST episode in which you refer had random things pop up, Lost is more like people's fears popping up and trying to overcome them.

Droglin, on the other hand, has a very interesting theory.

LOST has a ton of references to popculture, to philosophy and to literature. Our big-boned friend quoted Star Trek, we've had references to Alice... and check out the names of some of the characters. Locke? Rousseau?

The Star Trek reference is intentional, but it's not just a spin-off of that episode.

big boned? i have ONE big bone? i hope you weren't refering to that.

and spin off was probably the wrong choice of words but i think it's on the right track. i'd have to say that next to kate locke is my second favorite character.

Okay, my mom was raving about this show and lent me the DVD's this weekend. I've pretty much only watched this show when I haven't been at work, I love it. I'm only through the 14th episode so far, but I hope to be caught up by tomorrow at 8 so I can catch the rerun of the season premiere and episode 2.

I hate how I know that none of the questions I have will be answered before I'm done watching these DVDs, but it is probably a lot better than having to wait each week during the season and then all summer for season 2 to start.

Last night's episode really pissed me off. The story went no where and pretty much repeated last week's show from some different viewpoints. They damn well better not make this a habit.

Ya, last nights episode had me confused. They could of easily integrated episode 1 and 2 together to have less repetition. I wouldn't say the episode went nowhere though. Sawyer did reveal something that made a lot of sense.

What pissed me off about last night was not the filling in of the blanks from last week....it was the goddamn commercials every 8 fucking minutes. They pulled the same shit with last year's final episode. Nothing pisses me off more than 30 minutes of commercials in an hour long program.

My thinking on the others is that they're remnants from the Dharma initiative. They were basically part of the 'experiment' and they've just been left to fend for themselves... and have gone kinda mad with whatever the experiment was, just like entering the numbers was an experiment.

I hope this show doesn't leave wide-open holes in the plot. I have the worst kind of feeling that the "lucky numbers" thing will be abandoned.

How do you mean? I think the numbers have been explained pretty well.. do you want some kind of supernatural attachment to them? Like yeah, sure, Hurley experienced tons of bad luck associated with them (offset by the enormous bit of goodluck), but really, what do you want out of the storyline from them? Personally I'd be left going "wtf?" if they just tried to prove the numbers as being evil or something...

I think their storyline has hit a deadend, or at least evolved into the number punching psychological game.

Damn. that post was tough to make drunk. did I make any mistakes?

I am getting pretty sick of how they are trying to drag this show out without advancing the plotlines. The last episode was pretty good and gave some clues to things. For example, the others only take the "good" people. Maybe those people are the ones without a lot of "sin" in their backgrounds or something. How do they know who is good or not? There is definitely something supernatural or crazy natural effect going on and I could agree with teh premise that the "others" were leftovers from the Dharma project. This is evidenced by the knife found on one of them. Maybe the numbers are a way of forcing the "intelligence" behind everything to keep from doing something useful for a period of time. I think there was a star trek episode where they confused the computer by giving it some weird math problem.

Well... yes, it would be nice. It's difficult to believe those numbers could have won the lotto and be on a deserted island at the same time. I almost casually expect there to be a supernatural attachment.

did you see episode 18 with all the Hurley flashbacks?
it explained the numbers to an extent -- and hey I looked it up just to recap for myself where the numbers come from ;)

(from the flashbacks) Hurley goes to the mental ward and talks to Leonard who tells him "You've opened the box," he says, "It won't stop. You've got to get away from them or it won't stop!" (hmm this seems to have a deeper meaning now)
When Hurley asks Leonard where he got the numbers, he tells him that someone named "Sam Toomey" heard them when they were working in Australia.
So Hurley goes and asks Mrs. Toomey about the numbers and finds out that Sam heard a voice repeating those numbers, over and over again while serving his post at a naval listening post monitoring the South Pacific, 16 years ago. Years later, Sam used the numbers to win a contest at a local fair. He won - but also came to believe that the numbers were cursed and eventually killed himself. Hurley admits that he thinks he is under the same curse, but Mrs. Toomey doesn't want to hear it. "You make your own luck, Mr. Reyes," she says. "You're looking for an excuse that doesn't exist."
After the flashbacks Hurley confronts Rousseau about the numbers (since he saw them on some paper that Sayid got from her) she tells him that her team picked up the transmission repeating those numbers from their ship. They changed course to investigate and wrecked on the Island as a result. Her team continued to search for the transmission source and, weeks later, discovered the radio tower on the Island, by the black rock. They continued to search for the meaning of those numbers while they waited for rescue, but then the sickness came and destroyed her team. After they were gone, Rousseau went to the tower and changed the transmission to the one that we heard in the pilot episode. But what about the numbers, where did they get their power? Doesn't she know that the numbers are cursed? Rousseau tells him that the numbers are what brought her here -- just as they brought Hurley here, too. And ever since then, she has lost everything she ever loved. So yes, she agrees that the numbers must be cursed.

sorry that was so long, most of it was just copied from the oceanicflight815 site :P

this of course doesn't explain everything -- the numbers are engraved on the outside of the hatch and they are the "code" to keep the timer inside the hatch resetting -- but we don't really know why

Is anyone else finding themselves a *lot* better at guessing the plot 'twists' here in season 2? I don't know if it's the writing that's getting sloppy or if I'm just used to their ideas by now, but I called
[Show]
Shannon getting shot and the way it happened
as well as
[Show]
Goodwin being one of The Others
right off the bat. A little disappointing, really :(

Oh btw, someone played Walt's weird voice backwards, apparently he says "The button is bad, don't push the button" the first time and "They're almost here" or something similar the second time. This could be anecdotal though (come to think of it, I might've gotten it from here!)

Yeah, wow. Tonight was pretty fucking crazy...
[Show]
I think the Others let Michael go to make the exchange, and he decided to let Henry Gale go and make it look like he escaped so he could get Walt back. Either that or they brainwashed him and he's on their side.
Can't wait for next week.

Thats what I thought too.

Spoiler contains information from what I saw on next week's episode
[Show]
It looked as though the people that landed on the other side of the island are getting knocked off. Another possibility could be that the others are asking Michael to take out those people for revenge on killing their one man, and in return, he can get Walt back.

Ana Lucia is quite possibly going to jail IRL and Libby was going to do movies or another TV show.....so killing them off was the way to write them out of th show...albeit a surprise last night. I have heard Michael is also wanting to do something else so my guess is he will not be around much longer.

I really don't like the twist last night took. I am not sure if the writers actually have a plan or make shit up each week. Every week that they have a flashback or a repeat is because the writers didn't get their shipment of "medicinal pot" to finish their story on time. What are they going to do when Kate starts showing (she's prego irl now by the hobbit). Who's gonna be the daddy for that?

I think Michelle Rodriguez is only going to jail for 5 days. It was 5 days or 240 hrs community service, I'd probably take the 5 days too. That said, she's kind of a movie star and I always figured her run would be up before too long; I've been saying for weeks that she'd be killed off before the end of the season

Huh? Every episode has a flashback... it's the formula for the entire show! If you have that much contempt for the writers, why are you watching?
[Show]
As for the episode, yeah, that ending was something. Sylvus is right, she's already served her time, she's out. I wouldn't be broken up if she actually was killed last night; she's served her purpose and her story has been told. Libby on the other hand... I'd be disappointed if she was dead. There was still the storyline of her in the hospital with Hurley that was nowhere near resolved, it'd be a damned shame for it to stay unresolved. Of course it's would put an end to awkward moments between her and Hurley that have like no chemistry IMO.

Well Libyy did have a mighty tasty looking rack....and no one can get freakier in the sack than a chick straight out of a mental hospital. When Ana Lucia started banging Sawyer, my head instictively ket moving left trying to see her boobage. They definitely need to import hot chicks onto the island since they have now killed off 3 of 4. Here is to hoping a plane of Penthouse pets hits the island.......

Ok, just saw episode 20, and i did most definitely NOT see that coming.

[hide]Wonder how they are gonna salvage that, they just killed Jacks upcoming love interest, and Hurley and Libby still had some stuff to wrap up. Im really looking forward to next episode to see what the hell is going on.[/hide]
