OCALA, Florida (AP) -- Two boys were arrested for making pencil-and-crayon stick figure drawings depicting a 10-year-old classmate being stabbed and hung, police said. The children, charged with a felony, were taken from school in handcuffs.

The 9- and 10-year-old boys were arrested Monday and charged with making a written threat to kill or harm another person. They were also suspended from school.

One drawing showed the two boys standing on either side of the other boy and "holding knives pointed through" his body, according to a police report. The figures were identified by written names or initials.

Another drawing showed a stick figure hanging, tears falling from his eyes, with two other stick figures standing below him. Other pieces of scrap paper listed misspelled profanities and the initials of the boy who was allegedly threatened.

The boys' parents said they thought the children should be punished by the school and families, not the legal system.

Fucking pathetic. The punishment should be up to the family. If they get convicted their lives are going to fucked up for years for something thousands of kids do harmlessly. "Oh its a precaution, we must stop these threats before they manifest any more" With a fucking felony? Whos going to be the ones to stop the legal system?

While I'm usually bashing the Republicans/Conservatives this is a Liberal issue. We have people on both sides that fell off the political spectrum... many of the ACLU types dropped off a long time ago.

I'm quite sure many children have done this, in fact I would say it's almost healthy as they did it to get back at the child rather than ACTUALLY comitting the act... it's called imgaination and it seems too many adults have NONE these days.

Of course while these children are being arrested and kicked out of school the kid that ran over the cat with the lawnmower, stuck the firecracker in the dogs butt, and continually maims other small animals outside of school is ignored... at least until he becomes a serial killer 20 or so years later. There are PROFILES for potential problem cases so that intervention can happen, the problem is that stuipd people who aren't trained in shit but went to one "afternoon" lecture think they know... fuckers.

Ruining the life of a child, for any reason, should be punishable by the most henious retailation IMHO....

but seriously, first off, great thread title Cart . Secondly, i was shocked they were charged with a felony. Any kind of charge even a misdemeanor is too much.

Don't they hire counselors at schools to deal with this stuff? Have that person earn their paycheck for god's sake.

When I was that age, my classmates drew "Girl processing factories." In would go a girl, and she would be maimed and cut to pieces and processed in various ways. That and space battles. Obviously they were unstable.

heh my friend got kicked outta school for having a DND book in school for 2 days but wasn't "offically" kicked out .. just asked to not come back for 2 days ... i was also called into the office and riddled with questions about if i did drugs or was planning on killing people and crap .. this happend about 6 years ago
