Back from the desert...
I am back and still alive, good news for some... bad for others, I guess.
4 months of living in a tent around the Persian Gulf... sucked. No internet in the tents.
I have WoW and EQ2, playing WoW on Illidan PvP .... EQ2 on backburner.
What have I missed?

I probably gave you virtual items once upon a time...
Hmm, I know it must take balls to go and fight in a war, I respect that I do, but out of interest.........what is it actually like?
What is it like being shot at and shooting people? What is it like as a soldier caught in the middle of the pro war/anti war debate, simply doing their job? How did Iraqi's treat you? How did you treat Iraqi's? Did you imagine "furor" signs over the iraqi's heads?

I know it's not my business but if you feel like answering go fer it.

You do not respect the fact that he was over there. Telling him "fuck you" for serving his country in a war (whether you view as just or unjust) shows a complete lack of respect for his service.Ebumar wrote:While I respect the fact that you were over there.
I am sorry, but, fuck you.
Animalor is correct. You may not agree with the reasons for going to war...with the politicians that made the decision to go to war...but you can certainly support to the troops.
And if you do not want to support the troops then do not candy coat your reply by saying you respect the fact they were over there while in the same breath saying how you really feel.

I think people keeping grudges for over 2 years might be more of a reason to why your country is the way it is.Ebumar wrote:The later.Winnow wrote:Was he saying "fuck you" with regards to something to do with the military or was it a thanks for the service but "fuck you" regarding an EQ steamrolling back in the day?
You retards putting words into people's mouths are what make this country the way it is.
BTW ... It's spelled "latter"

Thanks for the welcome back guys.
To answer some questions... I was only on the ground in Iraq for very short durations. I never reallly talked to any Iraqis or left the security of the compounds. We still carried and wore all our defense/protective gear though, so it was not very enjoyable. The areas are very desolate, what you see on TV is usually the worst though.
There are many very nice areas that have not been affected by the war much, no shell damage, irrigated grass areas, stores and stuff. You can drive a mile on down the road though and see nothing but burnt dirt, blown up wreckage and poverty. The contrast in how things transition is what is hard to understand or believe.
Most of my time was further south of Iraq, we had a large airfield in the United Arab Emirates called Al Dhafra. I stayed there most of the time, my job is providing weather forecasts for the refueling operations over Iraq and Afganistan so I was needed more on the airfield area, than up front getting shot at, lucky for me.
5 months living in a tent though sucked. It was a large tent maybe 40 feet long and 20 feet wide. We had nylon cord running inside the tent dividing it up and on the cord heavy black drapery hanging to make sort of rooms. You couldnt see people, but you heard everything anyone was doing, combine that with metal lockers and the clanging was prolly the worst part... well no it wasnt the worst. The worst was being 100 yards from the runway and listening to all the jets, tankers and spy planes take off and land. If you got stuck on night shift then the damn wind would keep you up while trying to sleep during the day. The tents flap like a bitch with 30 mile per hour winds blasting them daily.
I think all in all, everyone is like pawns over there. US and allies just try to get the job done, the people and citizens are like in a daze just helpless and wishing it was all done and over with. The terrorists are prolly the only ones having fun. They are getting to kill themselves and blow things up all they want.
Well, its great to be back home anyway.

Hey Kylere,
What is Knight Online? Never heard of it. I enjoy PKing for loot, the WoW system is too forgiving!
