Why is it so difficult to post a summary of a link when you make it?

Sorry, I just linked the rm version.

You can go to the main site and click the WMP version to see here:

The drive fisheries video.

http://www.animalchannel.org/

The video shows Japanese 'fishermen' driving large numbers of dolphins into shallow water, then it's a wholesale slaughter/torture session.

The water they are in is literally red.

I can't really express this degree of extreme disgust. I posted a quick summary in another post.

While I too tend to focus on concerns on human beings I think this falls into that realm.

We are the dominant species on the planet and need to survive. Because this some other species are going to suffer. HOWEVER, when human beings just kill for no real reason, maim, disfigure we have to ask the question... WTF is up with them? Just like the little boy that continaully hurts small animals something is just wired correctly in some of these people...

Everything is on the planet for a reason. When we're the only living thing on the planet, how fucked will we be, I ask you.

Bad education... and religion... have made it all too common to think nothing of a life if it is not human.

Ask the Dolphins, whom it affects, and see what they think about it, mmmkay?

Plus, who are you to tell the Asains how to live their lives? It's not like it's happening in Baltimore Harbor. That is thier culture. If their culture was to rape women, kill those who dared question their government, suppress women and treat them like second class citizens, then I could see a need for concern.

Yeah our government is so fucked up. The US is by far the worst place to live we have it so fucking bad here. Tienaman (sp) Square? Not to say that we shouldn't work towards a betterment of our country/the world but why must we just constantly bitch about how bad we have it? I have yet to see a person start a post on something great that our country or another has done and let it be at that. Even the Bush aid to Tsunami victims was corrupted was it not?

Where the fuck did you pull Bush from? No one mentioned him, the US government, or anything related to that at all. They dissed Midnyte's attitude; nothing more. Jesus Christ, you guys are as jumpy as the economy. Calm down lads.

AFIK Japan is the only country in the world still killing whales and Dolphin. It's for "research purposes". That they like to eat them is a just a happy coincedence.

I have been on boats where they run schools of dolphins into orcas just to watch the chaos. Fishermen, like any butcher of animals, tend to be a twisted lot.

Judging by what I'm hearing here, I think I know what this is about.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is being done by a small fishing villiage in China that gets their yearly stockpile of food from doing this. Now, I'm not saying that this is a good thing - it isn't. Chopping them up like this is sick, twisted, and unfortunate. However, if this was your chief food source and the easiest method you had available to you to accomplish it... what would you do?

Norway does as well. Or at least constantly lobbies really hard to be allowed to again.

If you're right then I see no problem with that. If it offends people so much and this is the case, they can send some alternative food...

Utopian paradis? Hardly. I can be as rough on the Norwegian government as I can be on the American. Just ask my mother heh.

Anyway, yes we do a very limited hunting for whales. Only one particular type (I believe it is one, might be two) and in a very controlled limited number. The entire whale is actually used so it is hardly "just for fun either" and it has also something to do with fish etc.. hardly an expert on it. And as I said, the limited number is very strictly enforced and the government is constantly researching to make sure the type of whale does not get depleted.

This is in Japan Akaran, not China. It's also not about any small fishing village.
