I love this little gem:
"Democracy is also based on the right to choose your religion," he said, and that is "against the rule of God."

I'm not doing anything of the sort, ass kissing or otherwise. I'm pointing out peoples penchant for name calling and insults.Kelshara wrote:Sorry, it is our response to your constant Bush asskissing, liberal bashing and epeen stroking.
Being liberal has nothing to do with those traits... or do they?
I would defy Bush to file a successful lawsuit against anyone that has called him a moron. It's almost unreasonable for you to expect the rest of the world not to be distressed that the "leader of the free world" has a documented sub-par intellect, and to therefore express exasperation in the form of insults of the person in question and anyone that would dispute that.
There are plenty of instances of libelous insults from both liberals and conservatives on here. I leave the issue of relative propensity as an exercise for the reader.
If your yardstick is "unprovoked insults" of fellow posters rather than someone outside the "community", I suspect it tends to the conservative side.
However, if you want to make it "people that insult Bush", then there is a clear bias in your thesis.

WTF are you talking about? Who said a damn thing about filing lawsuits? It's about common decency toward other people. You know, respecting others even though you have differences? Respecting someone doesn't mean you have to like them, associate with them, 'kiss their asses', and so on.
If you think a thesis is necessary to explain that, /boggle.
Besides, who the hell needs a thesis to see how obsessive some people are about ridiculing others in these forums?
Now, with that said, read my other post VERY carefully Zaelath, then try telling me how I was being biased.
You already answered the question I posed with this statement:Aruman wrote:kelshara wrote:Kelshara wrote:

Yes, you are right, although I wouldn't call anything I have seen libelous. I also never said it was just the Democrats/liberals, it's just that I see nothing but insults and Bush bashing as the general response to any thread that has anything remotely to do with President Bush, and from who?Zaelath wrote: There are plenty of instances of libelous insults from both liberals and conservatives on here. IMO, the relative propensity leans toward the liberals, but is not exclusive to the liberals.
According to hardline interpretations of Islam, this is correct."Democracy is also based on the right to choose your religion," he said, and that is "against the rule of God."
Islam has no in-built notion of secularism. Mohammed appeared most recently (600ad?) of all the major religions' prophets therefore muslims believe their version of God's laws are the final and correct version.
The lack of a notion of secular separation is the biggest fundamental difference betweem the islamic/western mindets. And a tough nut to crack. And when you see the kind of pronouncements this kind of thinking can lead to is it any wonder a lot of people find the christianification of the US worrying?

Per your highlight: "or do they?" is a common device to negate the meaning of a previous statement. If you meant what you said, it simply wouldn't be there.Thesis: A hypothetical proposition, especially one put forth without proof

Zarqawi is a complete fuckhead.
However, Aruman is merely trying to swing his neodong because someone insulted his President.
Boofuckinghoo, the majority of the world is doing it, and they aren't just all as politically black and white as liberal or conservative.
Edit: There is just as much Bush blowing as anti bush hatred here, if anything the Bush blowers have been emptying their NeoAmerica bullshit here whilst a minority try and defend the concept of "reason".
Which is immediately branded "liberal" which is the new word for "fear of what you cannot understand if you voted for Bush".
Borrrrrring.

I agree Cid
What a pathetic opposition. It is the same as in Britain. Strong "labour" Tony Blair and weak "conservative!" opposition.
Burke is right too.

Unfortunately that is the one and only answer you can throw out that doesn't make liberals look like they don't have a clue. Can't blame you for trying.
Maybe next time you'll have a better platform. HIllary's already way ahead of you - compromising all her beliefs to win the race in '08 as we speak.

Yeah, democrats are brilliant for not capturing this vital part of the population in an election process that requires the majority of the vote. Conservatives care enough about stupid people to spend time duping them to gain their votes. Liberals think dullards are going to see the democrat platform of higher taxes, foreign ass kissing and general pussyism and jump right on that bandwagon! Not even Michael Moore can accomplish that magic feat!Zaelath wrote:Hey, if you got the moron vote you're unbeatable, in any election.cid wrote:If Bush is such a fucking moron, what does that say about the Democratic Party? The republican party is giving out free gun racks on their trailor home tour across the nation in 2007 so if you want to make this a close race, I'd suggest your democrat candidates start wearing NASCAR baseball caps at their rallys and adopt the simple, straight forward, seekrit battle cry that won this election for Bush: "America... FUCK YEAH!"

Oh, and when I want the advice or comments from some Guiness swilling EuroTerrorist (for lack of a better stereotype), I'll ask for it from one who has anything relevant to say.

What I am saying applies to any President. President Bush just happens to be in office, and I think there is a severe lack of respect for the Presidency as an institution.
I don't know what else to say other than certain institutions deserve respect, regardless of who is holding the position.
I didn't like Clinton, but I respected his decisions, regardless of how much I disagreed with some of them.
I didn't much like the first President Bush either, but yet again I still respected his decisions, even though I disagreed with some of them.
GWB, even though he has made mistakes (who hasn't made mistakes) at least is trying his best to do the right thing. If you think I am ecstatic that so many people have died in Iraq (not just Americans), you would be extremely mistaken, but I do believe that what has happened was necessary, regardless of how painful it might be. What I find to be the worst thing in Iraq is how these so called insurgents are murdering their own people in an effort to disrupt the establishment of an Iraqi government so we (various militaries) can leave Iraq.
I guess it's just a difference in generations or something. I have to agree that a large number of people who were born around 10 years after me seem to not respect people for who they are.
I realize that much of what people post here is just to blow off some steam, but I seriously think a few certain individuals are professional whiners.
Two comments to this:What I am saying applies to any President. President Bush just happens to be in office, and I think there is a severe lack of respect for the Presidency as an institution.
- I think part of the blame for this can be put on the Republicans who pushed so hard for the impeachment of Clinton. What Clinton did has been done by more Presidents than not, but for some reason this time it got pushed and pulled and blown out of proportion.
- I don't think people disrespect the Presidency. They disrespect Bush and the people he surround himself with. Respect is earned, it is not given freely.
I agree, it was blown (no pun intendedKelshara wrote: - I think part of the blame for this can be put on the Republicans who pushed so hard for the impeachment of Clinton. President's these days are open to more scrutiny because of the media. The media is biased, which influences people to make unfair judgements.
How can you judge and/or make real insults about someone you don't know or have ever met? This is what I mean by respecting someone.
I like to think a lot of what people say here as far as insults and so on is just venting. I poke fun at people, but it's not in my mindset to be that way, so I suck at it.
Other people obviously have the mindset for it because that is all they do, and it shows in their ummm... creativity.
