Because I am evil....

Post by Zamtuk »

SAN FRANCISCO, California (AP) -- Samuel L. Jackson dies in his next huge film -- but he does it in a really cool way.

Director George Lucas assured the actor that his Jedi knight character would go out in a blaze of glory in the forthcoming "Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith," and the director apparently made good on his promise.

"It's rousing," Jackson told the San Francisco Chronicle in Sunday's editions. "It's a great light-saber battle with 102 moves in three big rooms."

they're grabbing at straws trying to give people a reason to see this movie

You all are suprised? Jackson exposed this on several TV shows in the last few weeks, mainly stating that he and the majority of jedi die, minus a select few (Yoda et al).

Yeah, I think you'd kind of have to surmise that he dies considering there was no mention of him in Episodes 4-6. They had to kill him for continuity's sake.

He's gonna get horribly maimed. That's reason enough to see the flick.

Ep.3 will kick more ass than the previous two combined.

And yah no great spoiler that Mace Windu gets killed. It'd be a far worse spoiler, say, if someone said that

I was pretty sure that anyone considering themselves a Star Wars fan was aware that after the Clone Wars there was a 'Jedi Purge' where Darth Vader and Darth Sidious (Emperor Palpatine) hunted down and killed all of the Jedi. I think Obi-Wan said as much in Ep4 or something...

Someone else can spoiler tag this, but as it's Star Wars related, I'm going to file it under 'who the fuck cares now that George Lucas sold off my childhood...'
Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.

Anyone who wasn't in episode 4 gets killed off, simple as that.

Pretty much what noel said.
[Show]
Going by the novels post Epi6, you discover that a few other Jedi did survive (remember, they numbered in the thousands) and while a few of them were Sith related in their actions, they were kept under tight controls by the Emperor - usually in hyperspace restricted zones under thick and tight controls that prevented them from having little more tech than they could scavenge from fallen ships and anyone caught attempting to leave the area by ship was shot down, blown apart, and then bombed to wipe out any surviving tech. The rest, good-aligned or neutral found ways to hide themselves.

Vader and his co also destroyed the Jedi Library and all the Jedi Holocrons (their records) as part of the purge. Any Jedi that /ever came up on their radar met a brutal and violent death with from the full might of the Imperial Navy / Army / Special Ops / Vader. The sole exception to this was Luke Skywalker - and you can't call him much of an exception when he has the largest bounty of the entire Rebellion posted over his face at every city, township, spaceport and housing district in the known Empire.. which was pretty much everything excluding some worthless planets in the Outer Rim and beyond.

I think Vader and the Emperor developed some gay Jedi Searching machine... kind of like google, but for the universe. :P
