So cool. Can't wait for the data to start rolling in. Just receiving a signal from the surface is a success.

I wish we had probes going out monthly. This one took seven years. I know the comet buster was just launched but we need more!

Haha Lynks..

My astronomy teacher all semester couldn't stop talking about this Huygens thing, it basically took up our whole class time and then wasn't even on any of the 100 questions on the midterm or final! :-x

Seriously tho, this is some pretty exciting stuff. I'm happy someone other than the States made this "first". And before some of you fly off the handle, no, not because of any America hate, but because I hope it's the start of a new kind of "space race", pushing nations to reach further.

pretty neat shit... methane is a gas here, and a liquid there... titan has a methane sea with islands.

We were involved!
The Cassini-Huygens mission is an unprecedented $3.3 billion effort among NASA, the European Space Agency and Italy's space program to study Saturn and its 33 known moons. The two vehicles were launched together from Florida in 1997.
