How many other people went with EQ2 on release and have since deactivated and picked up WoW?..

I'm one.

You can't solo effectively past level 18-19 in eq2, and it took me forever to get from 18 to 20, and once i got there, i just didn't feel like logging in any more. I hear WoW will support my primary playstyle, soloing, and I remember it being fun from the open beta which i left the day eq2 was released.

level 5 so far.

Not that I wouldn't love to group up with some VVers, just that I don't want to NEED to.

Yeah soloing is easy in WoW

Well you picked the best class imo. Rogues are hella fun. Too bad you aren't on a PvP server though

I found it pretty hard to solo with my rogue past 15ish (I quit him at 17) -- maybe I just suck.

Picked up the warlock for the win though-

I did the EQ2 thing and had the same problem. I found all I did after 17 was gather crap because it was a big grind to level. I am 19 on WOW, doing Red quests, dying often and having fun. Get about a level every time I log on and don't need to get a group for most things. I occassionally group with a person doing the same quest for the 5-10 minutes it takes to complete and then get to be alone again.
When I was younger, I used to think that the world was doing it to me and that the world owes me some thing…When you're a teeny bopper, that's what you think. I'm 40 now, I don't think that anymore, because I found out it doesn't f--king work. One has to go through that. For the people who even bother to go through that, most assholes just accept what it is anyway and get on with it." - John Lennon

I played eq2 on release and then once WoW was shipped out, I picked it up and never played eq2 again. EQ2 is fun....if you have enough friends to make up a group, and they play for 8 hours every day. Too much dependency on groups.

Suggestions on a game?

up to level 14 so far, really having a good time so far...

alchemy + herbalism are going well too... pretty easy solo farming and questing when I can keep myself in healing potions.

I played EQ2 for the 2 weeks between its release and WoW's release. It was fun, and I got my wizard to level 20, but as was mentioned, you're too dependent on other people. I cancelled my EQ2 account a few days after playing WoW. I just had more fun there. I have a 49 shaman, a 36 mage, and a 33 warrior now. I didn't enjoy the warrior very much, although they're OK in groups. Maybe they'll get better at higher levels, or maybe my build sucks. The mage is pretty good at soloing (better than my warrior build, at least), but my shaman is the most fun to play.

Cancelled my EQ2 account last week. It was the same ol treadmill and I just don't have the time or inclination to do that again. Plus the Vannoth thing really made me say Fuck Sony.

Planning to pick up WoW sometime in the next few weeks. Hope to see some of you on Whisperwind or Hyjal.

Or if they have an American CC or someone in the States it can be billed to then you can pay them via pay pal or something. You can do that now before it's launched in Europe :)

Why would he want to be on the Alliance side? Too many over anxious noobs, present company not included of course. He would have much more fun playing FOR THE HORDE!

Nono, you can use a european CC to pay the monthly fee(I am right now). Just have to have someone in the US to buy a copy for teh euro.
Oh and, the euro also have to find some random american/australian name/adress to register the account with.

I'm probably going Horde and breaking my long standing tradition of playing noble Paladins. However I may make an alt Alliance Pally.

Is there a restriction on having an Alliance and a Horde toon on the same server?

No such restriction. I have a lvl 1 hooman that I log on to whenever I wanna take an alliance census or cuss out griefing alliance bitches. This game makes it so easy to utterly hate the other side that I would be genuinely surprised if anyone could pull of playing on both sides and enjoying it.

You can't have both an alliance and a horde character on a PVP server. You can have both, however, on the regular PVE servers.

Very true, Xyun. I hate the alliance faggots on WW SO FUCKING MUCH!

EDIT: Forgot to say that, IMO, this hatred could be one of the factors that makes the battelgrounds so fun.

Ten a Shaman is a paladin with a little less armor but MUCH more fun to play. I always played Paladins and have a level 9 on WW but haven't log into him since 2 days after release.
