Viewer suing Fear Factor?

Post by Narmgarf »

Ok...does this seem insane to anyone else?

I admit I think Fear Factor is a pretty terrible show and wouldn't be bothered watching it, but really...

If you don't like it....don't watch it. It's not filled with FCC violations so I don't see any merit here.

If only he had choked to death on his vomit. If a TV watching American doesn't know that half of the "stunts" on Fear Factor are gag tolerance acid tests, then he is beyond redemption. These stupid reality shows and will burn out eventually with the public and dumbasses like him will channel their frivolous lawsuits at the next closest target.

I will agree that television has become the wasteland of both urban and suburban culture...but Midnyte is correct. No one is forcing anyone to turn on the television and watch.

I read that this yahoo is a paralegal and is just doing this to make a statement. Is our legal system not flooded enough with frivolous lawsuits?

Two words for this guy...

Tort reform.

I would eat a lot of things for money but I woudl draw the line at blended raw rat. I get sick to my stomach just thinking about it.

I like watching some of the physical challenges on Fear Factor but the crap they have to eat is just nasty to even watch.

I used to think that stupid brain killing shows like Springer, Rickey Lake, Peoples Court, Judge Brown, etc. would burn out, but people are still getting dumber every day watching them. Those shows scare the hell out of me. They show some of the very worst parts about people.

Springer is entertaining if I tune in once and awhile, if only to confirm the fact that no matter how low I think some people can fall, there is always a lower common denominator. Thank you, Jerry Springer, for reinforcing my faith in the dumb shits of American society. May they continue to change sexes, sleep with their brothers, and cause much hilarity on basic cable.

What's the difference between blended raw rat and blended raw cow?

It's culture that seems to determine what is appropriate for consumption.

Blended raw rat seems kind of bland compared to other things they have had people eat.

If you dont wanna see something, turn if off, its that simple.

Oh, and btw, rat taste like chicken, my mom served it at a christmas party once, while she was working in a laboratory, nice clean rats (not experimetn leftovers), although some people was a little miffed the next week when they were told that it was not chicken they had been eating :)

Who the hell eats beef tartar... I have and do when it's presented to me.

If I can eat beef tartar I wouldn't have a problem with it being put in a blender.

Aitken, a 49-year-old part-time paralegal, said he wants to send a message to NBC and other networks with the lawsuit. He said he isn't concerned with winning a cash judgment in court.
Thats about as far as you need to read into the whole god damn issue.

*awaits the disclaimer to come* As his personal punishment, he should be forced to watch the entire Faces of Death series... If a rat can make him vomit, that'll dehydrate him from it all.

WTF? Dude, is your mom fucking nuts?

Too often it seems it is the peaceful and innocent who are slaughtered. In this a lesson may be found that it may not be prudential to be either too peaceful or too innocent. One does not survive with wolves by becoming a sheep.

Well, dont think they ever kept her at any psyc ward :). But nothing wrong with rats, if you got good clean rats (as for example lab rats, would be sick to go eat a sewer rat or something).

Personally, I'd rather jump out of a plane with no parachute and only a napkin to guide me to safety then eat some form of pig uterus.

I have to agree with mid

Reality TV shows and celebrity obsession in this country is discusting. Its sad that people have such bland lives that they have to endulge in that of others. I hear people talking about Jen or Nick or whoever is on the latest reality show like they know the people, and i still cant fathom why this bullshit is so popular....i guess its just like religion, its built for the weak minded and insecure

Fear Factor would be a much better show without eating all the nasty shit. The other segments are more entertaining. That said, I wouldn't watch it anyway so I doubt NBC cares what I think.

I agree with Aruman about blended rat and cow and whatnot. If it's edible, who cares if you eat it?

I don't know if it's an obsession... I know a lot more people that can't watch them, but will watch a well produced drama or say a Joss Whedon series obsessively.

Trouble is, if you put one shitty reality show up against another on ever channel, one of them will "win" the ratings because people will watch any old shit if there's no real choice.

Add to that reality shows are dirt cheap to produce... you see where this is headed.

We need a campaign to get Neilson families to switch off =p If they keep leaving the set on and not really watching, they're here to stay.

I agree with you, but Nausea Factor doesn't have the same ring to it.

Regurge Urge
Yack Factor
Refute the Boot
Don't Talk to Ralph on the Big White Telephone

Hmm, maybe a a possible offshoot of a show just for those nasty stunts.
