What am I - invincible? Unkillable? Beyond the realm of space-time? Who or what is the g-man, how does he freeze time, who are the other people that want my services..
...in short, wth just happened here?
Burned through it in a painkiller induced haze over two days, what just happened? ><
Akaran of Mistmoore, formerly Akaran of Veeshan I know I'm good at what I do, but I know I'm not the best.
But I guess that on the other hand, I could be like the rest.
HL2 has an uber engine though... the physics are excellent.. I was amazed by the water rendering, that is until EQ2 came out with even better underwater rendering.
You gotta remember tho, they didnt exactly give an ending to HL1 now did they. When you think of how anti-climactic (sp?) that ending was, you can kinda see they're both coming from the same place.
Wonder when they'll let us play a vorgon as the expansion
It could be that the only purpose for your every existence, is to serve as a warning to others.
Well, now we can conclude that Valve can NOT write endings . Still remember the dissapointment after finishing Half-life 1.
Oh well, maybe some more creative people can make good plot driven games on the engine
"Terrorism is the war of the poor, and war is the terrorism of the rich"
The girl gets knocked to whereeverfuckwhere and you are knocked to some-random-location in the horsehead. From destroying the teleporter the area around in sent into complete chaos. you start getting teleported to random spots between the horsehead and xen.
Finally you meet up again with alyx and you both make a break for the exit (dont you love how they do the light at the end of the tunnel?) and suddenly things start to slow down then stop. Gman pops up, says something like "thank you for escorting her out, our superiors wanted to keep this variable. However they have other plans for you. Your place in this war is far from over."
While that ending is still anti-climatic, it is still fitting and much more satisfying. Plus it makes you question what is alyx's role in the whole thing.
Yeah, I agree with Fash on that one.
Why was this moved? No one comes into this forum. ><

I don't see what makes this thread so special as to warrant a post in the general section.
And please, always use spoiler tags when you share specific details about something...whether it be a movie, book, video game, etc. Even if your subject says SPOILERS INCLUDED, use spoiler tags. It's just common courtesy.

Lots of people come to this forum. See the idea is, you make a post about a video game, and then people see that there's a new post in this forum and they come here to read it.
Given that most everyone on this board is currently playing either WoW or EQ2, there's less posting in this forum because people aren't searching for something to do until the 'next big thing comes out'.
Thanks to whoever moved it.
Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.
Well, I wasn't all that impressed with the ending but they left room for two expansions (Alyx and Barney) which would give them the opportunity to go further into it.
It'd be kind of funny seeing Gordon as a npc.. and talking.
Honestly, if they just released DoD:Source then I'd be golden.
Resistance
An attack on nova prospekt (which many beleive was led by Gordan Freeman and Alyx) is interpreted as the signal to start the resistance against the combine.
At first, the resistance has little sucess. They are pummeled by the combine's greater technology and organization. Gman's superiors order him to release Shepard, the only survivor of the opposing force, to assist the resistance.
A reluctant Gman, thinking Gordan is enough to topple the combine, releases Shepard in the sewers. He has no interest in seeing Shepard in action, and he also fears Shepard may reach other Black Mesa survivors and further expand on their knowledge of the incident.
Shepard finds his way out of the sewers, completely suprising Gman, and finds himself between two sides. Not knowing who to trust, he hesistantly joins the resistance.
With Shepard's help, the resistance starts to gain wins against the Combine. However, the day before Gordan and Alyx return, he is captured by the combine. He speaks with Breen, who convinces Shepard to join the Combine.
The next day, when Gordan is assaulting the area near Horsehead, Breen orders Shepard to confront Gordan. While fighting the resistance he enters a heavy firefight. After the fight Gman comes in to apprehend Shepard. Gman tells Shepard he wasnt following orders, but in actuality, Gman noticed Shepard was better than Gordan, and feared if they met. Gordan would die.
