Anyone else notice?

That a mob you kill at level 35 drops gear or green loots that you would expect to drop from mobs 5 to 10 levels lower? I didn’t really notice this until reaching the mid 30's, before the loots seemed very level appropriate. Now mind you there is always an exception to this but over all it appears to be the standard. Am I spoiled by the auction house on the quality of gear I use for my level, or has anyone else noticed this?

Yes

A lot of the drops I get from exp mobs 2-3 levels higher than me are useful to someone around my level. I'd like to see more vendor loot.

The extreme randomness of loot except off of boss mobs stops farmers, but you get some odd stuff as well.

Can someone tell me, do polearms, fist weapons, EVER drop? Are they not in game yet or are they just high level drops? I've seen fist weapons in stores, but never seen a polearm or fist weapon drop from a monster or be granted from a quest and I'm lvl 36...

Polearms, Fist Weapons, Crossbows were all implemented to be fairly rare. Had a nice polearm drop yesterday for us in a chest.

yes, I have got a few polearms, but rare as hell.

Grimlok in Uldaman drops a decent Polearm. The two times I've killed him so far he's dropped polearm and a lame cloth chestpiece.

Back to the original subject. I am deffinately noticing weakness in green drops. My axe at lvl 40, Bonebiter is only 2 dps lower than some green weapons I have seen with a lvl 55-57 requiremenents(both 2-handed). That's insane!

Green drops for the most part are average stuff that you can get by on, the blue+ drops are much better, and seem to be 100x more rare. Most of them show a .1% drop rate on Thott. If your lucky, a fanatical farmer or willing to spend the bucks in the AH you can get great stuff.

Seems like a decent design to me.

just had my first blue item drop this weekend at level 29, some guy laughed at me supposedly I should get them much sooner from instances, too bad I mostly solo

this in turn made me into a farmer lol went on a killing spree netting me nice bagfuls of greens sold to vendors, I now have a nice 5 gold to my name for the first time, not to mention exp took me all the way to 31

I sat down and grinded out two levels yesterday in the centaur area right outside Maurudon in Desolace and got not one, not two, but three blue items from chests. Find treasure is best class skill evar.

I gots a polearm from RFK once.

As far as I know, there is only ONE fist weapon in the game as of yet...the Bloody Brass Knuckles, a drop from SM.
