Zell Miller joins Fox News

Post by Brotha »

Hell yeah!

This was on AOL news so I can't really link it but...
LOS ANGELES (Dec. 14) - Retiring U.S. Sen. Zell Miller, the conservative Georgia Democrat who backed President Bush's re-election, is joining Fox News Channel as a contributor.

Miller, who made a memorable TV appearance when he challenged MSNBC host Chris Matthews to a duel, will be seen on a variety of Fox News programs starting Jan. 6, a Fox spokesman said Tuesday.

"I am excited to be joining Fox News Channel and am eager to contribute to the continuing success of the network," Miller said in a network release.

In a raucous interview last fall on "Hardball with Chris Matthews," Miller, 72, angrily told Matthews, "I wish we lived in the day where you could challenge a person to a duel."

He made the comment when Matthews pressed him on barbs Miller launched during his convention speech against Democratic presidential contender Sen. John F. Kerry.

Miller, a two-term governor of Georgia, was appointed to the Senate in 2000. He's taught history and political science at schools including the University of Georgia.

In November, GOP Rep. Johnny Isakson won an election to succeed Miller.

Alan Colmes is like fingernails on a chalkboard... I can't watch that show without my bloodpressure rising past acceptable levels.

This isn't even "infotainment" any longer.

Fox"news" should have their news title removed. There's nothing newslike about it

Don't you see what's happening?? Now they have Sleazy, Wheezey, Screamie, Creepy, AND Crazy. They only have 2 more dwarves to go before they have the full set!

Miller is a racist Nazi bastard period. He rode to power on the back of segregation and has continued those ideas from the sidelines. It dosen't matter who's side he says he is for, the bottom line is that he is against equality for all and for all sorts of prejeduces. I watched Fox news very litttle, usually just the Factor a couple of times a week... now, probably none at all.

Zell is one of the largest supporters of censorship *cough* err... morals and values programming in the country, and honestly after hearing him speak i doubt that he is mentally stable
he rode into power on a segregation message and hes pretty much for big government or big government control in almost every aspect, he is far worse then any republican we have in power and honestly i believe that there should be a law past stating
"any politician now in power whether it be in the senate, house, supreme court or executive branch will be FIRED immediately if in the past, they have ever had a controversial record regarding civil rights"
Racist ass Rehnquist is in power too, its sad how far behind we are on social progress frankly...either way thank god hes retired, if only his batshit crazy ass dueled the hardball guy and ended up being shot in the head...

Zell Miller is pretty senile at this stage of his life. ...pretty funny that Fox picked him up...even funnier if he switches back to actually being a democrat!

Zell Miller's first political job was working for Lester Maddox, who was a famous Georgia Governor who actually chased black persons out of a restaurant with an axe handle.

this was in the 1970s I believe.

i think this is a terrific hire for FNC. I hope they feature this guy prominantly.

Surely you can do better than that he got a job working for a racist in the south 40 years ago.

I was a dishwasher for a racist restaurant owner as my first job. So what?

that showed that ZELL MILLER once STOOD FOR RACISM, and if you once stood for segregation, your life or political resume is worth less to at least me then a half dead roach
he should have been fired a long time ago and forced to replace your position by washing dishes in a restaurant

...still i dont respect that fact that you were willing to work in an openly racist enviornment, i wouldnt be able to (morally), even if it came with an 800k a year paycheck

Senator Byrd .. paging Senator Byrd...

Thsi is a commentator position. They ask him what he thinks on certain issues and he blow up. Should be fun to watch, kinda like watching John Merrick eating Corn on the cob.

As for liberals on Fox, Liassion, Juan Williams are also noted liberals on ther, along with Susan Estridge.

Actually Mara Liasson is a Republican Seeber.

Roger Ailes (the boss at FNC) wasn't going to hire her because he presumed she was a liberal because she worked for NPR. She had to convince him she wasn't to get the job.

And that is exactly what FNC wants its viewers to think, they cast a moderate Republican in the roll of "Liberal" on their panel, which skews the discussion obviously to the right. It is actually intelligent political crafting which has obviously worked on its audience.

Mara Liassion is NPR .. no way in hell she is Republican. I need to find a bio somewhere.

Either way, I respect he opinions. Juan, well not so much.

Okay, here is her bio:

Mara Liasson is the national political correspondent for NPR. Her reports can be heard regularly on NPR's award-winning newsmagazines All Things Considered and Morning Edition. Liasson provides extensive coverage of politics and policy from Washington, DC -- focusing on the White House and Congress -- and also reports on political trends beyond the Beltway.

Each election year, Liasson provides key coverage of the candidates and issues in both presidential and congressional races. During her tenure she has covered three presidential elections -- in 1992, 1996, and 2000. Prior to her current assignment, Liasson was NPR's White House correspondent for all eight years of the Clinton administration. She has won the White House Correspondents Association's Merriman Smith Award for daily news coverage in 1994, 1995, and again in 1997. From 1989-1992 Liasson was NPR's congressional correspondent.

Liasson joined NPR in 1985 as a general assignment reporter and newscaster. From September 1988 to June 1989 she took a leave of absence from NPR to attend Columbia University in New York as a recipient of a Knight-Bagehot Fellowship in Economics and Business Journalism.

Prior to joining NPR, Liasson was a freelance radio and television reporter in San Francisco. She was also managing editor and anchor of California Edition, a California Public Radio nightly news program, and a print journalist for The Vineyard Gazette in Martha's Vineyard, Mass.

Liasson is a graduate of Brown University where she earned a bachelor's degree in American History.

Wow. If she has right leanings following this career path . .wow .. she is special.

Just doing the math here: Journalist+Brown+ Columbia+San Francisco+ Martha's Vineyard+NPR = Republican. Again . .she would be a very special person to pull that off.

well, i'm just telling you what she said in an interview with a television industry magazine about 3 years ago. it is a business to business publication, so there really wouldnt be a reason to get into the PR of political hype, etc.

Seebs, regardless you have bought the myth. So it doesnt really matter whether she is a Republican or not, to you she is a liberal, because everyody who works for NPR is a liberal. The flip side of that is calling everybody who works for FNC a conservative, etc.

Liasson's political opinions are pretty moderate though regardless of how she votes, and I think she is a terrific journalist. Additionally, Seebs in your analysis you left out an important predictor of her rationale for perhaps voting Republican, and that is she probably makes over $400,000 a year.

And she is probably a sexual deviant (republican owned).

Again, I state that I respect and enjoy her opinions.

Not sure I bought any myth, just my observations.

need it be mentioned that Voro works for CNN and is obviously biased against FNC ? :)

But I bet like the rest of the country, he watches FNC more than CNN.

(I don't know this person you're talking about, and I don't watch TV at all, so the only time I get FNC is on XM Radio once a week)

It makes more sense if you replace, "dishwasher" with "fluffer" and "restraunt owner" with "porn star".

And yes, that's makes about as much fucking sense as comparing working on a political campaign as washing dishes.
