Login Issues

Post by Ransure »

Hey all, Ive been through the WOW site and tech support, but Im still having this issue. Almost all of the time when I try to log in to WOW my comp freezes either at the splash screen, or after Ive typed in my login information. Im going to try to reinstall tonight and see if that helps, if not, Ill wipe my entire system... But anyone else having or had a similar problem?

Oh, Im running:

XP2500+ Barton
2 x 512 PC2700 Dual Channel
9700Pro
8RDA+ Nforce2 Motherboard

My CD burner stopped being recognized on my IDE channel last night as well, so Im thinking that my MB IDE controller is going to shit... but still not sure...

Try deleting your WTF and your Interface folders?

I have that same board on my backup computer and it gave me a lot of problems using the Nforce2 IDE drivers. Try reverting back to the Default IDE drivers, it fixed all my problems.

Where should I get the default drivers? Ive been running the Nforce drivers for almost 2 years without issue... I figured my CD burner was going cause its like 4 years old... but the issue is still there even after its off the IDE channel.

I've got a nearly identical system and haven't had any issues...

Have you tried deinstalling any burner software?

Might want to look for irq\hw conflicts as well with msconfig\msinfo or whatever it's called.

After messing with it last night... the secondary IDE channel is shot... and there are some major problems with the primary IDE channel... Oh well, found out the boards under warranty... so Ill rebuild my XP1800 with the parts in this box and send this board in to get replaced...
