Sharks need to have water flowing through their gills in order to breath, but I don't see how it'd drown unless it was in still water.

They don't even mention how long the shark was...

funny...I've seen lots of Makos on dives but this doesn't look like a Mako to me. Of course the massive size would make it look quite different from the little 6-7 footers I'm used to seeing.

actually sharks need to be constantly moving to be able to "breathe"

i'm sure fatigue is what eventually kept it from being able to move any further...it was towing a fairly large boat too dont' forget
