Poltical Compass
Poltical Compass
There is a site that asks you several questions and puts you on a 'political compass.' It's not just a left-right thing, it is 2 dimensional. I'd be interested in what people here score.
The site is http://www.politicalcompass.org
I for example am apparently:
Your political compass
Economic Left/Right: -4.38
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.31

I get all interested and click the link to take the test, then the first question is:
I'll take it but heh.
edit:
Your political compass
Economic Left/Right: 0.75
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.15
Hello loaded. Apparently companies that are profitable are not a benefit to humanity now. Well except for the products, services, jobs, and charities they support. If economic globalisation is inevitable, it should primarily serve humanity rather than the interests of trans-national corporations.
I'll take it but heh.

Some of the questions are ridiculously wordy and confusing, I wouldn't market this test to people in florida.

Seems more like a RNG to me than a serious study. Many of those questions are wierd (feel naturally homosexual?). I would have liked a bigger scale too, at least indifferent in the middle, atm youre forced to take a stand on stuff you dont care or got a meaning about.

Close to same as it was last time I took this test. I will agree the questions are biased though because on many other test I come in directly in the middle with a slight lean to the left.
The problem with this is that you must at least agree or disagree, there are many questions that I really wanted neither.

When I was younger, I used to think that the world was doing it to me and that the world owes me some thing…When you're a teeny bopper, that's what you think. I'm 40 now, I don't think that anymore, because I found out it doesn't f--king work. One has to go through that. For the people who even bother to go through that, most assholes just accept what it is anyway and get on with it." - John Lennon

That could be because many conservatives I know are conservative because their mom and dad were, not because the political orientation is aligned with their personal beliefs. If people actually looked at their individual beliefs and compared them to each party to find which one best fits, less people would be so quick to call themselves conservative.Atokal wrote:Seems I am far less right wing than I thought.

You have this knack for totally ignoring the obvious with your blanket statements like this one. Suppose it happens the other way too?Lalanae wrote:That could be because many conservatives I know are conservative because their mom and dad were, not because the political orientation is aligned with their personal beliefs.
