Post by Winnow »

TOP 10 WORDS OF 2004

The top 10 words of the year based on searches of Merriam-Webster Web sites.

1. blog
2. incumbent
3. electoral
4. insurgent
5. hurricane
6. cicada
7. peloton
8. partisan
9. sovereignty
10. defenestration
Where the hell is neocon and liberal-pussy?

First one to use those 10 words in a single paragraph gets 100 VVs. (I feel cheap today!)

The blog was written by the incumbent cicada canidate whom had been recently accused of being partisan with his interests in the insurgents in the south eastern sovereignty. They seemed to have formed a peloton as they cycled across florida surveying the hurricane damage, however, it was the sight of the CEO of the McMhanon institute laying on the ground before them - a victim of defenstration - that made him change his ways.

I hope they were looking most of those up for spelling rather than meaning :(

I agree. It's a sad day when people are actually looking up the definition for words like hurricane, electoral, partisan, etc. more than anything else.

Wonder how many of the "sovereignty" hits came from the White House.
