Getting back to the topic...This article makes it seem the French and UN are doing a "Do as I say, Not as I do" kind of thing. At least that is the gist of it that I got. Someone asked early on how many civilian casualties there were and I think they said over 60 in the article when the French fired into the crowds.

I can't speak for others. Unlike you, I don't presume to know others so well. However, I have stated numerous times that I support civil unions but not marriage for gays. I don't want to normalize something that is abnormal. And many gays have come and said this exact same thing. Would you call them homophobic? I would find it funny if you did. You don't know everything jackass. If you stopped acting like you do, then maybe you would get an ounce of the respect and consideration you may think you are entitled to.

Your analogy is flawed. No one is pushing for the blind to have drivers licenses. Being blind doesn't have anything to do with the definitiion of marriage between a man and a woman. Being gay does.

i dunno if 72 years ago gay men and women were asking for the right to marriage, but you can't expect change to happen over night. i imagine it would take some hard work and dedication by teh gay community to see some change.

women like Alice Paul and Carrie Chapman Catt to name a few, led orginized movements to help give women teh right to vote. thousands of women even went to jail during these times. in the end they were granted the right to vote.

up until 1973 being gay was considered a mental disorder. in 1982 Wisconsin became the first state to outlaw discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. it's 2004 now and atleast one state has legalized same-sex marriages.

if you want more states, if you want all states to give homos the right to marraige, get off your ass and do something about it.
