Stargate -SG1

I'm asking this because I've started watching Stargate: Atlantis recently and really digging the show.

Was/Is SG1 a good show? I'm considering picking up some season DVD's and was wondering if this was worth it.

It's a good show. I wouldn't buy them on DVDs yet, because they run reruns of them ALL THE TIME on SciFi.

Don't get Sci-Fi up here in Canada sadly. I should probably check Space's schedule see when they run.

My beef with re-runs is that you loose a lot of the cohesion from sequential viewing. (Point and case - Fox's abuse of Firefly)

SG-1 is a good show, we only got to season 5 in DK, so i am kind of looking to buy the DVDs myself as well. You can also download most of it via bittorrent on http://www.suprnova.org.

If you like Atlantis you will like SG1. The first season of SG1 is a bit rough, i.e. really low budget and bad acting. But as they get into the show it gets a lot better.

I like both equally actually. What bugs me though is that the show started out on Showtime. To me that is saying that is going to carry some adult themes, use more graphic language, and show a bit of titty now and again. In the first epidsode they did show some titty but after that it has been like a made for TV after school special. You rarely even hear a Hell or Damn.

I own the first season on DvD and just traded that for a while to my brother for his Season 2. Just got yet yesterday. I am looking forward to the season premiere for both shows which I think come back out in January.
