The Undead...

Post by masteen »

I have to admit that I am impressed with the way Blizzard developed this race. Their quests tell many sad stories of families torn apart even in undeath by the Scourge, and of the dark hope that these people have to survive. I have to say kudos to Blizzard for their handling of what I thought would be the most unsympathetic race.

I have to agree that the Undead areas are very well done. I will be playing one at release.

As a story side-note,

Thrall wanted nothing to do with the Forsaken joining the horde. It was Cairne and the Tauren that convinced Thrall to give them a chance and let them in.

As the "New Age" is not covered on http://www.worldofwarcraft.com website, I would be curious to know where you are getting the lore from. There isn't a lot of information on the events leading right up to modern times from the end of the Frozen Throne campaign.

I was expecting them to be written as very blood-thirsty and soulless, but the quest arcs portray them in an almost sympathetic light.

But they're not undead anymore. They are unundead.

In-game quests =)

There's a quest thread that deals with this part of the story.

Don't figure it's important enough to black out as a spoiler

I also like the fact that many of the undead NPC's have normal names, or as normal as names get in a Fantasy setting. It shows that they were probably normal people before becoming undead. And then they go back and live normal lives, like being a farmer, but they're actually walking corpses. Just like real life.

Has anyone noticed a group of undead NPC's hanging out in the Undercity are named after the members of Project Mayhem from Fight Club?

I've been trying to decide whether to play EQ2 or WOW. My computer runs WOW very well and will barley run EQ2. So far I really like the Quests in WOW as well. Are you guys going to be playing at release?

Sounds like you've already come to your conclusion, but let me finish it off for you. WoW is fun, EQ2 is not.

I dunno what EQ2 will be like at endgave but for every easy level you got from 1-60 in WoW, the challenge will be returned to you 10fold in raids.

I've seen Onyxia and the best attempt right now has only managed to get her down to 65% of max health.

When she hit that she started flying around and buttraped the raid.

WoW endgame is gonna be rockin.
