Custom UI issues
/loadskin <name> isn't producing any result except to reset the location of the default UI windows. Is anyone experiencing this problem or has anyone else heard of this?

Both problems seem to be related to custom UIAnimations files. UI's from before PoP don't have the calls for the raid window, so they error on every zone and cracsh you every time someone issues a command that should update your raid window.
Try hitting alt-R in game. If you don't get a raid window, this is likely the source of the problem. Gonna fool with Mine tonight and see if I can find the right code int he default UIAnimations and copy it over.

i'm not sure exactly what, because i havent done any of the .xml myself , but I know after the patch for planes of power there were things that needed to be updated with the ui's, and I think there was a fair amount of pain in the ass invovled in doing this, so It may just be that some people don't want to screw around with putting out a newer version of their ui..
The one I was using stopped working, and I downloaded a new one that was updated for pop and it works fine for me now.

Fynris,
Open your UI_errors.txt file and look for the name of the file in the last couple of lines it is having a problem loading. Then find that file in your custom UI folder and delete it. Then try to load again. I have found that that works for me when this happens. Once you are back and working again, go grab a new UI file for the one you deleted.

quick question...
I make a new folder other than DEFAULT in the UIFILES folder. Title is magi. Now I DL the .xml successfully and place it along with a copy of everything in the default folder into folder named magi. I then DL the full skin to desktop. I goto open it but when I do, it tries to get me to DL the same thing. therefore not letting me unzip it into the magi file so I can log in type /loadskin magi 1 and then play with a new ui. AM I doing everything right here and wth is wrong with this file that I'm tryin to DL? Any help would be appreciated

You dont need to copy everything from the default folder to your custom folder. Just place the new .xml files you want in the custom folder. The client will load those and then load the others from default. It makes it OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS easier to troubleshoot it as well doing it this way.

I experienced the same phenomenon. When in Raid mode *bamf* desktop with my custom UI. I ended up adding the UI files updated with the 10/21 patch to my custom UI folder (with the exception of the main EQUI.xml).
I still get the occasional "hello desktop" situation usually on zoning (when I log back in I am still grouped). I don't seem to be getting Raid window Related crashes any longer and I can get to the Raid interface.
