Yasser Arafat's Health

Post by Fat »

Ok, I'm sick of hearing about the elections at this point so I thought I might try to introduce a new topic.

Yasser Arafat's mysterious blood ailments have reduced the Palestinian leader to a bed-ridden condition in France. He appeared to be making gains, but now it seems his health has deteriorated again. If Arafat dies the Israelis have said they will not allow him to be buried in the Old City. To compound possible problems he is a very popular leader among his people and has left no heir apparent. This could very well be the first major (new) diplomatic test the second Bush administration faces. I'm sure you all have your opinions.

On a possible heir:

All I can see ahead is one big fireball. With Arafat gone... if one of the Hamas leaders steps up and tries to take over, Isreal is going to roll that place into the sand.

But I guess that on the other hand, I could be like the rest.

I can see the situation quickly destabilizing in Palestine. Arafat may not have acted with peace in mind at all times, but at least he kept a leash on many pro-Palestinian groups. With him gone, that leash may go slack.

I thought I heard that they arranged for a pannel of 3 to work as a council of leaders in the event of his death since there was no heir.

Well I dont hope it, but the best situation is he leaves us, and then we can go onto the next phase, and maybe we can work on a palestine nation from there. It may get much worse before it gets better though, and pussy asses no need to reply.

Hamas leaders may try to take over and the US or the UN hopefully, but I doubt it, may need to intervene. This is a situation we need to solve within 10years to help us win the war on terrorism, because its used as a recruiting tool. We need a palestine nation free from Israel opression, a wall to help seperate the hatred among these people, and a Israel without muderous bombings on civilians, free of Islamic hatred. Ok it may take a 1000 years!

It is completely accurate to say that Israel is the focus of Islamic hatred. It is a fact. Saying so doesn't make you a racist, a bigot, or even stupid. Whether Israel deserves to the hated is open to debate, but not the fact that they are.

Personally I think we need to completely pull out of the Israel/Palestine conflict. Tell Israel they are cut off, no more aid. And tell the Palestinians that we are no longer even attempting to hold Israel's leash. They can work it out for themselves, or they can blow each other up, frankly at this point I don't care which it is. All I know is I'm sick and tired of throwing good money after bad at Israel, and I'm tired of watching both sides try to out do each other in a contest of who can be the most depraved.
