Election Results Incoming

Post by Midnyte_Ragebringer »

A new thread for us to banter. It's 7pm EST. Some results will start coming in from 5-6 states. In an hour the mayhem starts.

Kerry getting NJ so early hurts Bush, me thinks.

I do like seeing him winning the popular vote thus far though. But, the big states are yet to come in.

Biggest surprise is early results favoring Bush by a sizable margin in Florida.

55% Bush
45% Kerry

Very early but they are reporting Bush winning in areas he lost in 2000.

That and Bush winning 56% of the popular vote nationally (again very early)

The local news has done a breakdown of the counties: the results are all coming from largely rural areas that traditionally vote Republican. They come in quickly because of the smaller numbers. Bush has taken a provisional lead in some of the key I-4 coridor counties - near Orlando. The panhandle and the heavily populated south Florida counties aren't due for a while. I suspect that Bush is going to win Florida at this point, but it will be within a few percentage points.

Incidentally, I live in Southwest Florida, a traditional Republican stronghold , and the results are extremely close.

I'm starting to feel a lot better about Bush's chances at this point.

I'm really liking the 300,000+ vote lead in Florida atm.

its really more about Ohio than Florida for Bush i think.

Kerry needed to take one of those 2 from Bush to really get him perhaps.

I thought though that FL would go for Kerry. Its still to early to tell though i think. Conflicting information from exit polls and some early results.

its raining so damn hard here though i can't get my satellite (which rarely happens to me), so i'm stuck surfing =D

I would not be too excited about the 250k lead in FLA just yet. Most of Duval is in. Only half of Broward is in. None of Miami-Dade is in. The lead is largely a result of the smaller counties (Bush country) fully reporting. If you still have a 50k+ lead after most of Broward and Dade are in, then you'll have something.

Florida is getting closer as we speak. Bush's percentage lead has dropped 3 percent, now it's 53%-46%. it was 56-43 earlier. Watch for the margin to continue to drop.

Never understood the point of pulling an all-nighter for something like this. The result will be the same in the morning, and the day at work wont suck donkey ass.

That said, I expect the morons to unite and re-elect Bush. At least that will give Midnyte something to cheer for in his sad life.

Currently Kerry is carrying Toledo, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton, and Canton. These are pretty much all the large urban areas. If he can maintain his leads in these areas as all the votes are finally counted (booths will be open until midnight in Cols, Clv, Cinci) then he will probably win Ohio in my opinion.

I mean for goodness sake. Franklin country (where Columbus is and I am from) is a gerrymandered county for the Republicans.

He is clearly insane, im not even saying that figuratively, that man IS batshit insane.

Alan Keyes is intelligent, or else he used to be. My bet is he gambled that the fundie stuff that seems to work for Bush would work in Illinois, and it wouldn't fly with a social liberal like Obama running in a state that leans heavily Democrat in the past elections. The Illinois Republican party is in shambles, due to the efforts of such notable figures as Ryan (the gov.), Ryan (the failed gov. successor), Ryan (the disgraced senate-would be/divorce problems), and now Keyes. Illinois is going to lean Democrat for awhile just because the Reps have got nothing in this state worth talking about.

I remember I was told I was crazy on this board for saying florida wouldnt goto some legal BS...........Like 200 because this time Bush was gonna win it by 250+k or so, out of the margin, to even protest really. Hmmmmm...
Ohio, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado and Wisconsin are trending Bush atm....I maybe dead on what I predicted except Iowa from the current outlook.

One of the big reasons Im thinking atm. Is Bush is taking the Hispanic voters by much more than exspected....54% Hispanics in Florida for Bush.

At the polling both I was a clerk and tech. Today OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS Hispanics were trending Repubs. I mean my precint was around 4200 voters. 1200 voted today and 1300 voted early. Out of the ones that voted today Bush was was about 1000 to Kerry's 200, and we had good margin of minorities come in about 30-35%.
