This is who I am.

Post by Akaran_D »

Starting a new thread for this. Why? Because I fucking feel like it.

This is who I am.
I am a 22 year old white male.

I am a resident of the WV and a native US citizen.

I am a Christian.

I am not the best Christian in the world or even close to it nor do I pretend to be so. I have issues with swearing, a twisted sense of humor, and am far to weak willed when it comes to matter of the flesh and physical (sexual) pleasure and gratification.

I do not believe that there is any kind of right to abortion. I beleive there is a right to choose to have sex or not to have sex and if you choose to have sex, I beleive you have a right to practice it safely or not and you have to live with hte consequences.

I believe that the only time that an abortion should be considered is if the mother's life is endangered. I believe that there should be legal followups for any abortion perofmred and if it is found that her life WAS NOT in danger, both the woman and the doctor preforming the abortion should be brought up on manslaughter / murder charges.

I believe in the death penalty. I think it should be expanded to include such things as violent rape (aren't they all?) and molestation / abuse of a child.

I believe the legal age of consent for sex should be +-2 years depending on the age of his or her partner after the age of 14.

I believe that our judicial systems needs a complete and total overhall, starting with limiting lawsuits filed because someone is an idiot and thinks it's ok to drink boiling hot cofee.

I do not believe that this country should spend any more money to other nations until we have figured out how to care for our own. If such spending is required, it should be done very selectively and under extreme watch by both congressional and senate organizations that are required to post quarterly accoutns as to where the money went.

I beleive that the education system in this coutry is a horrid waste of taxpayer money.

I believe that the act of disposing of hudnreds of tonnage of foodstuffs that this country produces is a criminal act in and of itself. I believe that any government of any country that refuses to accept any of the excess food we have left over after we feed and clothe our own should be classfied as a rogue nation and their governments should be replaced. You want to starve you rown people out of food, fine, but not on my watch.

I believe that gays should have the right to engage in civil unions that are recognized by the state. I believe that it is up to the individual churches to decide if homosexuality is wrong in there eyes or not, and either allow religious ceremonies or disalow them as they see fit.

I believe that outsting Saddam from power was the right thing to do.

I do not believe that we did it correctly.

I do believe that additional support from the UN would have been nice.

I do not believe that it should have been required.

I believe that if the UN has such a major problem with us doing it, they should actually do something about it by forms of sanctions or military action.

I believe that there are rogue nations that need to be delt with and delt with effectively before there can we world peace.

I do not believe that the US should be the only country exploring options leading to the disarmament of aformentioned countires by any means necessary.

I do think it is Vital that the US secures any oil reserves that it can to protect the dwindling oil supply. I trust us more than I trust Iran.

I believe that we are rapidly approaching a world war 3 scenario over resources. Current alliances and the UN itself will mean nothing at that time.

I believe that the only way to stave off such an occurance is to direct a very large ammount of research across the globe to find alternate energy sources, starting with removing any patents held by oil, gas and coal companies that allow for the development and use of such alternitive fuel sources and into the hands of private buisnessmen.

I believe that drug companies should be subsidized and regulated by the federal government in terms of the price of the medicine they provide. The heart condition of an old lady should not be held hostage by some person in NYC who walks around wearing rings that cost more than all the money she earned in her entire life.

I believe that any person has a right to protest any thing for any reason.

I believe that the person(s) or company(ies) or government(s) have the right to either do the changes that are requested, ignore them, or only do some of them.

I believe that alchohol industry should be regulated in the same way that the tobacco industry is.

I believe there is so much fucking space in this country to build houses that we SHOULD NOT have any issues with homeless people. If they are medically incapable to work, place them in state run instituions and screen the staff heavily so we do not have as many problems with abuse as are running rampant through that system today. There are hundreds of charity orginizations that are willing to help, Let Them.

I believe that the US will lose its superpower status in the upcomming century, if not earlier. When that happens and the balance of power shifts, I believe that it is vital that the US is able to maintain and support itself as a nation with the emphasis on internal production and consumption than external.

I believe that the music industry has a right to protect their profits.

I believe that if the music industry adapated to modern day formats, availability, et al and offered songs for download straight through their own organizations, they would have less to worry about.

I believe that the software and video prodcution industry should follow suit with the above suggestion.

I believe in the necessity of instituting state run 'safehouses' where someone can come in, get as drugged up as they possibly like, be placed in a clean and safe enviornment, and not have any repercussions from it from federal or state law.

I believe that if you sign up for one of these institutions, you must surrender your liscence and keys to them at the front desk and that they should not be handed back to you until you are competely off of your trip. If this means you stay overnight, go ahead.

I do not think that healthcare should be privitized.

I think the USPS should be.

I believe that if you are old enough to join the military you are old enough to drink.

I believe that DNA testing should be a mandatory requirement for all persons currently on death row. I realize that it is not perfect but it is evolving as a science to become more and more accurate. No DNA = no execution. Life in prision is still an option.

I do not believe that foreign entities should be allowed to influence any election taking place in this country. Sorry.

I do not believe that foreign entities have any right to tell us how to handle our internal affairs as long as they are not causing human rights violations and are still done under the flag of democracy.

I believe that all news outlets are innately biased. I do not think this is a situation that can be corrected.

I believe that jail should be considered an option for any journalist found exploting 'opinion' as 'fact'.

I believe that polls are worthless and should be disregarded at all times.

I believe that the US has rights to bin Laden, regardless of what coutnry he's currently hiding in. I can gaurentee you that if someone did something similar in France or Germany and we had him within our borders (note: Ia m not implying that he is in France or Germany) there would be more than just political actions taken.

I believe that we have the right to bear arms, but I do not think it is necessary for a man to own a howitizer or heavy assault weapon such as a chaingun, rocket launcher, or the like, or at least ammunition for any weapon under that classification.

I believe that if any nation along any nations borders that constantly sends refugees to that country has proven themselves inept to caer for their own people and that a governmental change should be a viable alternitive to consider.

I think that the euthinization(sp) of animals is wrong just because we can't find a home for them. If you've ever had a cat or a dog you KNOW that these things have to have some sort of a soul, or at least SOME kind of intelligence. Just because they can't speak human doesn't mean they're stupid.

I do not agree with standardized testing in public schools. You're going to have kids in an area where education is very easy to obtain knowing more than kids where an education is vey difficult to get, and the tests should be scaled accordingly.

I believe that all teachers must pass a yearly test. If they can't score above 80%, then what good are they TEACHING our children to begin with?

I believe that stem cell research should be allowed and that monetary rewards should be offered for anyone willing to donate the umbilical cord and any other material necessary for it, shy of the actual baby itself.

I believe that sex should be more of an open topic and should be openly taught in schools, with graphic videos depecting the act and any plausable positions and methods. Bite me fundies, if you did it yourself we wouldn't haev as much of a problem with udnerage sex as we do now.

I believe that I haev the right to smoke, drink, and harm my body in any way shape or form but if I do it then I have to accept the consequences of my actions while under any sort of influence.

I believe that Washington needs to be purged and that around the board elections should be necessary. And while we're at it, let's put people in charge of buisness, finance, education, healthcare, ect that actually HAVE been sucessful in their chosen fields.

And now I think I've run out of things I can easily think of off of the top of my head.
So these are the things I stand for. Like them, leave them, I don't care. I've been questioned before, I've answered before, but it keeps comming up.

So, here you go.

I know I'm good at what I do, but I know I'm not the best.
But I guess that on the other hand, I could be like the rest.

When I was your age, I thought a lot of things too. As you gain more life experience, you'll find that things are not always as simple as they're painted by people you'd previously respected, etc. Just be patient, and try to learn as many things as you can, and truly try to understand both sides of a given issue. Try to empathize with both sides before you make your decisions...

Agreed on not taking the other thread personally. You voted what you thought was right, and no one can ask more than that. Jim Rome was saying on his show today that he was 'voting for the one guy so he didn't have to vote for the other guy', and that half of his friends voting for the other guy were doing it for the same reason. ;)

I want to strongly recommend a book for you - Dominion by Matthew Scully. Scully is a Christian and a conservative (he was a speach writer for Bush in 2000, among other things). I am not trying to trick you. I promise. This is an excellent book and from a completely Christian perspective.

Here is the Amazon link. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/de ... 3?v=glance

I believe that our judicial systems needs a complete and total overhall, starting with limiting lawsuits filed because someone is an idiot and thinks it's ok to drink boiling hot cofee.
There are many good reasons for people to want some sort of tort reform in this country. Here is an article I wrote relating to medical malpractice, an area sorely in need of some reform (though in the article I am supporting a market based solution). http://writ.news.findlaw.com/commentary ... scott.html

That said, the case you chose (and one that has often been used as a sort of poster child for tort reform) was about the most meritorious cases ever distorted for political purposes.

Here is a link to a BBC article on the case. http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A429950

But, even easier is just to do a simple Google - "McDonalds coffee lawsuit" - you'll be able to gather a lot of facts from sorces you will find reputable.

I've also repeatedly recommended Richard Clarke's book. I'd be willing to pay for it for you. You need perspective my friend, and for that you need to listen to other people who you might not agree with.

So lets see, you dont mind sexual pleasure before marriage (np with me, i dont believe in that too), but if the rubber breaks, you dont let the girl your with decide if she are now ready for motherhood, a gift granted by a broken rubber?

Which you mean you help to by supporting a president that are working agains more environmental and less gasoline using cars, because it help his friends/supporters in the car industry?

Akaran_D wrote: I believe that if you are old enough to join the military you are old enough to drink.
Agree with you on that one, never got the US drinking age. If youre old enough to vote and fight and kill, youre damn well also old enough to drink.

Akaran_D wrote: I do not believe that foreign entities have any right to tell us how to handle our internal affairs as long as they are not causing human rights violations and are still done under the flag of democracy.
The problem is that your current situations ARE causing human right violations. You even been kicked out of the various international humans rights organizations you were in before the war.

I quite agree again. This would also solve a large part of the abortion problems, due to young people actually KNOWING how to have safe sex and not get pregnant (not to mention get STDs).

Not to mention - as documented in another great book - The Price of Loyalty by Paul O'Niel (yes, I realize that Suskind was the official author) - the most successful businessman in the Bush administration retired after two years because he could not continue to operate in an administration completely bereft of discorse and reasoning.

It seems like you're putting words in his mouth on this one. He said he was weak-willed but didn't say anything about agreeing with premarital sex.

Secondly, he's saying he believes the woman has a right to choose whether or not to engage in sex, under the awareness that shit *does* happen, i.e. broken condoms, etc. considering there is no 100% safe way to practice sex other than simply not having it.
Do unto others what has been done to you.
