Quarter of Season Complete, who gets top honors.

Post by Madren »

Patriots / Jets - battle of the unbeaten this week!

Who is your Team, and how have they done ?

My team : Giants.

Coughlin has been a blessing so far. My Slackass giants are in much better preparation, and fighting hard.

Our 4-1 record has been against weak teams on the whole, but for the moment , ill just allow myself to be content and happy.

Offensive line continues to improve week to week.

Tiki Barber ( for now is in the top of the league in RB stats )

Falcons Defensive Line. Patrick Kerney has been an animal, and Rod Coleman (i'm drunk, i rolled my escalade and out 2 weeks) is the best defensive free agent pickup in the league this year.

Mike Vick is still playing relatively erratically and the Falcons are 5-1. What that says to me is, we got a lot of upside =).

Steelers have overcome some major injuries and are sitting at 5-1 for something like the 3rd time in 30 years. Duce Staley may be the most overlooked free agent of the off-season.

Ben Roethlisberger is showing everyone what those of us who watched Miami-Ohio already knew. The kid is just an amazing QB. The injury to Maddox was nowhere near as significant as the one to Casey Hampton. That is one player they couldn't lose and go deep in the playoffs. Hopefully the rest of the defense steps it up to another level.

Wait, so this is the thread where we fellate our hometown team?

I think the Lions... just kidding.

I'd say top honors might go to daunte culpepper, he's been tearing shit up this season.

Homer Team: Cardinals

They've played hard and are getting Anquan Boldin back next week. A better than expected defense and staying competitive while losing is all I could expect and am happy with this year from them.

Surprise Team: San Diego Chargers

I have LT2 on my Fantasty Football team so have watched every one of their games.(5 games have been non HDTV..bah) They are much better than what was expected before the start of the year. LT2 is himself, Drew Brees has been outstanding and other teams can see it considering GreenBay is tried to get him before the trading deadline. Antonio Gates has been a monster at TE. Their defense plays well enouh to give them a chance.

Best Team: Eagles, NE, Minn

If I had to pick the best team overall, it would be the Eagles. The Vikings are the best offensively but Moss just got the dreaded hammy and their defense would get worked by the Eagles more than the Viking offense could work the Eagles D IMO. The Colts are a notch below the Vikings offensively but in the same ballpark. The Patriots are #1 AFC until further notice. Win 20 games in a row and you are the default pick and deserve it.

I'd have to say the Cards as well. They are very close to having a much better record. I think they are going to begin to "surprise" some people very very soon.

Obviously I am going with the Packers but they are having a shitty kick off to the season. We shall see what happens this weekend against Dallas.

I am interested in the Rams only because I have Bulger in 2 leagues as my FF QB.

I hate to say it but I think the Vikings are for real this year. Though I love to see them lose. I get the same feeling with the Eagles mainly because of that 4th and 26 bullshit from last year. Brian Westbrook has been my FF stud this year.

Bye bye win streak. I can't even see a way that Roethlisberger doesn't win Rookie of the Year after this week. Tommy Maddox has probably already been given permission to talk to the Bears.

The Cardinals are a year away! I like what I see but they'll still lose most of the time.

San Diego looks as solid as any team atm. They've been able to sit and rest LT2 the 4th quarter the last three games.

I think San Diego has been the biggest surprise this season. If Brees continues to play like I knew he could then they are going to have a severe controversy next year. You can't leave Rivers sitting on the bench. I don't think SD will get far or even to the playoffs but 8+ wins is looking like 8 more than I expected at this point. If they had one good receiver then they could be set. I could see SD trading one of the QBs away and getting a lot for him.

One thing I can say is that I am happy not to be booking in Las Vegas. Too many upsets every week.

I'm just REALLY glad to see the KC offense get in gear, as I drafted Priest number 1 in my money league. Back to back 100+ yard games with 4 & 3 TDs makes me happy in wallet.
