Bug that can get you banned?!?! WTF, over?

Has anyone heard rumor of a bug that can result in you being banned?

Apparently, there's a bug whereby if you go LD with Aggro while zoning, you can log in to find your account suspended/banned.

Does anyone have more information about this? Thanks in advance!

Yeah, what was happening was that LD'ing or zoning with aggro would cause the baddies to kill your 'ghost'. Since the server couldn't generate a corpse for you, it crashed the zone.

Some punks were using it to pop Ssraa and such over and over again. Pathetic.

It's been patched, haven't heard of it happening for a week or so now.

ok i'm gonna need an explanation here, because i've been playing EQ for awhile now, and going LD has never stopped the server from generating a corpse for me before.

Was some kind of bug they introduced about three weeks ago, from what I was told.

You had to aggro, then zone and yank the plug on your connection. Lots of bitching about it being done on the class boards. There was an allusion to a fix in the last patch before PoP, and I haven't heard of any other incidents since then.

So If I was to go LD from zoning while running from a mob. I can be banned?

Apparently, not anymore Cid.

Unfortunately, there were a few people that had to defend their LD's and get bans reversed during the couple of weeks the bug existed.
