If the world was in an endgame type of situation - massive nuclear war, major asteroid, whatever, would you want to know ahead of time, or would you simply accept death as it happened?
Food for thought this morning.
Akaran of Mistmoore, formerly Akaran of Veeshan I know I'm good at what I do, but I know I'm not the best.
But I guess that on the other hand, I could be like the rest.
Life's a game, we're all players.
There's just no saves, loads, or continues.

It's just food for thought, Dreg, Syl1 and Syl2.
If you don't like to think - as evidenced by your comments - you don't have to post.

I thought this post would be about WoW or EQ2. Vary deceptive...
"There is at least as much need to curb the cruel greed and arrogance of part of the world of capital, to curb the cruel greed and violence of part of the world of labor, as to check a cruel and unhealthy militarism in international relationships." -Theodore Roosevelt
I'd want to know, but I'd be afraid of the world as a whole knowing. People are stupid and would do an unimaginable number of stupid things from rioting to raping to just random idiocy.
I'd be having unsafe sex with every underage girl in juvenile hall. I guarantee it.

Attempting to stop it would be a good way to go if it was feasible. That said, I think the reprecussions of such an announcement going out would destroy any hope of saving civilization, so I'd rather people not know.
Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.
I would say no, imo there is no worse way to die then to know the exact day, time and minute my time is up leaving me with nothing but a miserable end and nothing to do but count down the minutes.

huh? I can think of a bazillion worse ways to go that involve acid, torture, fire, being buried alive, alzheimers, any number of severely debilitating diseases, etc.
Here's a choice for you:
You are going to die Next Monday at Noon instantly from a gunshot.
OR
You are put into an acid bath that will slowly eat away your flesh until you finally die but the exact time is unknown.

The second one, because i wouldnt know...of course thats considering i couldnt avoid the gunshot death, and that i dont know im going to die at all from an acid bath
Thats just a weird phobia of mine though, a lot of people have a weird phobia about death i have discovered!
For that reason i always feel awful even for the worst death row inmates, even when i take into consideration the crimes they have commited

You mean to tell me you would rather die a slow horrible death instead of a quick one? I know you don't want to seem like a flip-flopper but c'mon, you're sounding like Bush rihgt now.

The point is i would rather die a slow death some day in the future without knowing the exact day-time-second etc then a quick death a week away with me knowing the exact time...as i said theres no real logic behind it, its just a phobia i have to execution-like deaths, where i know the exact second in which i am going to die
of course i would prefer a quick death i didnt know about to a slow and painful one i knew was comming...

The list is ever evolving, so right now Ben Afleck is Numero Uno.

You'd spend your last day getting up for work, working at a boring job for 10 hours, drive home, have dinner, take one good shit, post on a messageboard, and then go to bed?
I would try to prevent it from happening. So when it works, I can sit back and laugh at all the fuckers who did stupid shit that they'd normally get into assloads of trouble for, thinking that they could get away with it
If that didn't make sense I apologize. I'm quite sick and my brain is not functioning too well today.
