Halo 2 Pirated!!

Post by Animalor »

http://www.gamespot.com/news/2004/10/14 ... 10539.html

Looks like it's a french, PAL version of the game that's available from the Gamespot story.

Wouldn't wanna be the one of the receiving end of the lawsuit that Microsoft is gonna slap down for this.

Oh no! Bill Gates might miss out on an extra billion the day of release, but oh, wait:

Which means that if, on his way into the office, should he see or drop a $1000 bill on the ground, it's just not worth his time to bend over and pick it up. He would make more just heading off to work.

We're assuming about 4 seconds to bend down and pocket the bill. Of course he can afford to hire people to follow him and pick up any $1000 bills he may drop.
Though that's out of date by ~5 years, as of 10/14/04 his stocks are worth 30.52 billion :(

Why hate someone for making a lot of money?

Bill isn't making that game, lots of talented programmers and game designers are. HALO and now HALO2 are the creme of the crop for FPS multiplayer games.

The french (gross) version is in PAL so you won't be able to take advantage of the nice HD resolutions. The NTSC version will look much better if you have a decent TV.

I'm not hating Bill Gates -- I'm just saying Microsoft has more than enough money for it to truly effect them.

The programmers will be paid sufficiently regardless.

ok. I can live with that : )

It's free advertising and hype if anything. The game needs to be purchased for XBox Live and that's where this game shines.

I'm hoping that MS bundles a 3 month X-Box live promo with Halo2.

That would most likely anchor my desision to buy this game.

I don't know what kind of sicko shit you like to play but Halo, by any standard, is the top FPSer on game consoles and kicked ass on the PC as well.

Sicko shit? By ANY standard? Normally I wouldn't come trolling, but your "cream of the crop" comments made me laugh out loud - even if we're talking opinions from opinionated people on opinionated forums.

Here are mine, since you asked: FPSes on a console is like lite beer on tap. I played it, had fun with it for awhile, and then tossed it aside for the REAL thing. Halo on PC is about three years too late to matter, but I know it has its audience. I played it, had fun with it for awhile, and then tossed it aside (fuck no I didn't pay for it). I think at the time I was playing 1942, but I could have just as easily been playing half life 1 for pete's sake. Much more entertaining, and engrossing. My opinions tho, if you want to let them bother you be my guest, and since you asked - UT2004 rocks all over Halo's ass! woo

Any FPS on the PC is better than on a console. I had no intention of comparing the two. Halo on the PC though is extremely fun in the PvP mode. I don't know about the solo campaign mode as I've only done the first part which was fun but I can't comment on the entire campaign.

Strictly speaking PvP on the PC, I had more fun playing Halo than anything else I've played. The vehicles rock. Flying down the road with a gunner topside shooting up the enemy is great. The sniper levels are a blast.

Halo came late to the PC and it still rocked. I didn't mean to confuse the console games with PC. I don't play FPS games on the XBox and Halo2 will be my first because it will be at least a year if not more till it shows up on the PC I think (not sure).

I hated Halo on both platforms, and I fucking love FPSes. The prospect of shooting neon colored aliens that are giggling like teenage girls at a Hanson concert might appeal to some people, but I think it's fucking lame.

As far as multiplayer, UT is much better.

Same here...I've had more fun playing Halo on XBOX than any other FPS on any platform.

Beaten almost the whole game on every difficulty. Still can't beat the library on legendary.

I couldnt even beat the library on normal. I probably could have if I wanted to, but I quit after appromimately 5000 solid hours of killing the same identical creature in the same identical room with the same identical gun. what an enormous piece of dogshit.

Sure, Halo was innovative and what not for a console fps, but if you want to play an fps... why play on a fucking console to begin with? The only reason I could think of for playing an fps on a console is if it's just a great single-player game. If you want to play multiplayer, play a PC game. And as mentioned before, the single-player aspect is complete dogshit. If you want a good single player fps, play Farcry or Doom 3. If you want a good fun multiplayer fps, check out Call of Duty or 1942, or Counterstrike:Source. Half-Life 2 will more than likely blow all these away, anyways.

Halo sucks, Halo2 will probably suck just as much.

The only FPS games worth playing is Quake1 (Quakeworld) and Counter-strike 1.6 if you play with IRL friends. :)

UT sucks, i hate the physics. No airmove is fucking gay. Same with Q3.
Painkiller is stupid too, where's the skill in pressing forward and jumping to gain speed?
f that!

go quakeworld!

I'll repeat. It's free hype and advertising. Halo2 will sell as many or more copies and to the same people that downloaded the frog version.

Its funny getting any sort of whining about pirating from the Grandmistress of Suck. The ringleader of leeches. Lame enough to pawn off your torrent needs on VVers. Download your pirated wares leech and shut the piehole.

I understood exactly what the little cog wheels cranking in kyoukan's noodle were trying to communicate. Microsoft would prefer that the game not be released early but open your fucking eyes. There is zero copy protection XBox games. They are released typically before the game comes out and the games still do well.

The most entertainment value you get out of XBox is playing on XBox live. Microsoft, unlike kyoukan, is smart enough to know this and has done a great job of protecting XBox live access.

You numbnuts (and ovaries I'm told) aren't bright enough to know what Microsoft has figured out long ago. Leaked betas, games, apps is free advertising. In the case of Windows, it's even better. They want as many people using Windows as possible as the businesses have to buy the product. Leeches at home using Windows that go to work and want to use the same tools only helps their cause in getting businesses to buy their product in mass quantities.

Keep whacking it furiously Dregor. It burns calories.

As usual, someone else started it.

It's not as big a deal as the leeches are making it out to be but it is pretty ironic coming from a huge leech that promotes pirating guides on this board.

Whether the game is released a month early or the game released the day it goes live, the same people are going to grab the game illegally. Why are you so hyped up about a game being leeched early when you're going to grab it anyway like you always have? Buy the game if you like it.

Microsoft is trying to gain users this round in the console wars. They want to increase their share of the pie before the next generation. Any way to spread it around is good. I hope you buy a game or two once in awhile instead of torrent everything.

Actually, who really cares. I mean, i played Halo 1, got to that part where you get up in the spaceship or whatever it is, then decided that this was possibly one of the most boring FPS i had played (spot now taken by Doom 3), and deleted it. Doubt the 2nd are gonna be any better.

I never said you couldn't make personal attacks, just not in this forum. Unfortunately being a moderator doesn't allow me to show favoratism to people who's posts I like and enjoy over people who I think are annoying. That said if the attacks continue the thread gets locked.

I realize that there are plenty of stupid people on this forum who are deserving of criticism. I can't do anything about that, but I can make this forum a place to talk about games, and that's what I plan to do.
