I love it when people make fun of someone's accent.
Apparently people are oblivious to how their own voice sounds to others.

I'm positive that most people in texas feel are able to say nuclear properly.

It's not an accent thing. It's a stupidity thing.

Actually, growing up in West Texas, it was often pronounced NucUlar. Sure I learned the difference in school, but the accent placed the vowel in the wrong place.

An accent gives a little character. Kerry is a monotone, walking zombie.

Yeah, many southern places pronounce it differently. I live in Alabama and some people say NucUlar and some say Nuclear. Personally I don't give a shit how you say it, as long as people know what you are talking about. Just like how Tomato can be pronounced 2 different ways.

Edit : I'd like to throw in that even though you can say SOME words different ways, he really fucking should be able to pronounce things like Abu Gharib and terrorists names correctly.

I don't cut and paste 4 swear words from thread to thread and call them a post.

Winnow and Cartalas. The Ultimate Duo of Stupidity. Movie at 11.

Screw saying it correct, at least mispronounce it in the same way consistently :?

Yes, I've done that an amazing one time and on purpose in response to some excessively lame posts that weren't worth more than a cut and paste.

I don't need anything fancy to know what your total word count is on VV. I can take your post count and multiply it by four. You'd better use a calculator for that exercise.

That was only three words unless you count the acronym as four separate words!

I lived in Japan for 3 years in the military and when I came home everyone thought I had an accent. What kind of accent we don't know but it wasn't like the locals. I think it had to do with being in a melting pot of all different accents and then throw in a bunch of far east languages as well like Japanese, Korean, Chinese and more.

So I can see how even though Bush was raised up north, having spent so much time in Texas would change your accent.

One of my coworkers is from the U.K., but has spent several years in Texas, and has gained a "Texas drawl." Now he has a great Australian accent. It's pretty far out.

On a related note, my accent seems to increase dramatically when I am out of state. I don't mean that it's less noticeable when I'm in another state, but when I leave Texas I tend to start using words that I never use when I'm actually *in* Texas, such as "y'all" and "howdy". (Who am I kidding, I use "y'all" all the damn time.)

Hoarmurath, it's the same thing in Illinois. I don't know what is happening to me, but "ya'll" has been creeping into my vocabulary more and more. It's scary.

And your point? I'm not lecturing someone about the quality of their posts. Just pointing out something I thought was hilariously ironic.
