Mob con level for 61+ players
Ok, bad subject title but you get the point!
Normally, you have a 15 level or so difference on mobs you can still get XP from. That changes for level 61+, with the level being about half that, around 7-8. This means that Velks and Sebilis (most of upper) will be green.
While I agree this is a good thing in theory, I wonder where they expect everyone to level. Cazic Thule can only hold so many. Chardok, maybe but a lot of people are working on faction. Most of the XP places in Luclin suck although I hear UP is hitting 100+ these days.
I thought PoP was supposed to be mostly a raid expansion, but they better be introducing some more XP zones if they don't want overcrowding in the ones we presently have.

There are several places where shit won't be green, but people don't go there. Lower Sebilis, Fungus Grove (bugs), Maidens (4 arm camps), Siren's Ghetto, Dragon Necro, Cazic, Ssra, Akheva (go deep and not camp zone), and a shitload of other spots that I could think of if pressed. Most of the inept, skilless rejects that came from Karnors and LoIO could not handle these palces without a full guild raid of them. I have seen full groups training 2-3 mobs in Maidens repeatedly because that is an overpull for them. Here is a clue for you and your skill level.....if you have a "Train to zone!!!" hotkey made, then you have no business being in a single zone I just listed. Re-roll your character and stick with EQ classic.

yeah....I think those places alone could keep a good 300 people going. I can tell you now that the 4 arm camps in Maidens could support 4 or 5 groups with no hassle. People just don't go there because they are harder than gorangas and such. People like safe camp spots like near zone lines. I am no different when I am soloing or 2-boxing. But full groups of people can easily move out and camp that area. The typical group could handle pulling and killing one set of ruins each.
There are spots in each of the zones I listed that are virtually untouched. The ladder room area in Dragon Necro could handle a couple groups...another group or two could pull hallways non-stop. We are just all too lazy to go and find the spots. It looks like people will be forced to find these uncamped places if they want to exp. People with good groups should have no problems. It will be the 2-boxers and soloers that are going to have more problems finding spots. Really looks like VI has found a way to force people into grouping the way they intended. With the new raid exp allowing more than the standard 6 person group, there is not much reason to stick to soloing all the time.

i disagree with you on the ladder room. I think that once you get a second group down there, it isnt such a great spot.
the point is not that there are no places for 61+ to xp. you have listed many good spots.
the point is there are SHITLOADS of lvl 60 people now who are going to need to find places for whole xp groups, because there is going to be a massive drive to level up - obviously.
so with that, a diminished potential pool of places, on a crowded top heavy server, will require a substantial amount of new content in PoP that is doable by xp groups.
I hope that raid xp translates into some tangible gain, but i am not optimistic for anything beyond breaking even on deaths.

yes, that is the point of this thread.Dups. wrote:...also ... umm Isn't pop supposed to be filled with high leveled monsters?
will there be a substantial amount of places where people can get xp in group situations in PoP?
the fact that there are high level monsters is not sufficient. they need to be 1. plentiful, 2. doable by a group, 3. have a fast respawn.
nobody is complaining about anything. obviously until we see what the expansion holds, we don't know anything. but the fact that the dynamics of xp gain change as people ding to 61 is a very relevant point of discussion.

Here is the uber sekrit infoz for exp past level 60. Get VP key. Leave a corpse somewhere with a 2 boxed cleric logged out there. Get invis. Run to Phara Dar's lair. Kill the 2 raptors repeatedly with a 2 minute repop time. Watch levels go by.
I don't think your issue is as much of a lack of high level exp camps as there is an issue of most level 60s are soloing or multiboxing and not actually grouping. I truly believe you may see more interaction with people grouping more to go and get exp in tougher spots now. There is no excuse not to when you don't have to adhere to the 6 man(gina) groups for exp now. People with the intelligence and skills will not have problems finding places. The rest of them should take up something like Jedi Knight or something. Judging from Searyx, it should be easy enough for one armed retarded baboons to excel in.

Killmol although i agree with you on the fact that all of those spots are good group XP areas i disagree on DN.
DN Ladder can not support more then 1 group. I regularly XP there and if we are not screwing around and AFK we clear 90% of the mobs there easy. 1 group can also do halls but there is not enough there to be good XP. 1 more group can do Peabala side. So DN can really only support 3 groups.
Ssra is good, can support 2 - 3 groups 1st floor, 2 groups second floor & 3 groups in the basement pretty easy. All those areas are not hard with a single group with good DPS.
Anyway, i hope that there are some nice XP spots to support tha massive amounts 60s we have on this server.

You guys are not the "average" level 60 groups either. There are certain groups of people that can take on a hell of a lot more than the average level 60. FoH, Valhall, Legion, CD, CT, etc can generally take 2 "camps" when an average group would struggle to take one. There are pick-up groups of 60s that get wiped out at Disco in Seb....but myself and a bard can clear every mob in that camp and have down time. Give it some time....I think we will all be ok with the exp grind.

Man...no more peace and quiet for meh at Velks castle, 8 level blue con range? Jesus, so at lv 65 you need to be killing lv 57+ mobs =/
Maybe Verrant will re-vamp runny eye and solsek a to match Cazic Thule >< so there's areas to exp grind
