More beta invites incoming

Post by flankmen »

New Phase of Beta - Caydiem on 09/21/04
We are introducing a new beta phase with this patch and welcoming another round of testers into the game. A second Player-versus-Environment server has been launched to accommodate the thousands of new testers we are inviting into the beta. Select Beta Server 2 on the realms list to play on this server. These new testers will be selected from the pool of applicants from our initial signup period. Those who have been selected to participate in the beta will receive an email from Blizzard with instructions on how to download the client and connect to the new server. Unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate everyone. Please do not contact Blizzard directly to inquire about your selection status; those who have been chosen to participate will be contacted by email. Good luck and thank you for helping us test World of Warcraft!
Good luck!

All five of my applications on nzone.com (different names, IP addresses and email addresses) will get an invite and I will get a beta slot off the original sign up and open beta will start up at the same time as I get one of these working,

OR

I will get zero and I will fly out to Irvine and IRL PK the whole development team because open Beta will be another 6 months off. :P

I have reconciled myself to a lack of middle ground between these two scenarios. :(

I got an invite to the stress test, but I could not bring myself to participate. Would have killed me, I know they say that it doesn't hurt your chances of getting into beta if you didnt participate, but I cannot help feeling like Im going to get fucked >:(

WoW will lose it's appeal when it stops being a free beta. They don't want too many people in the beta as that will hurt their initial profits from people getting a taste of it and deciding not to buy.

I do hope it attracks most of the kewl dewd crowd away from EQ2 though.

I've been playing WoW for a year now. Game has come a LONG way from what it was. I will gladly buy and pay for this come retail.

EQ2 I will stay away from. SoE gets no more money from me.

Same.

I saw the EQ2 preorder box in the store and lol'd irl at the character models. I know graphics aren't everything, but c'mon.

I found the models in EQ2 to be heavy on piercings and polys, low on flavor. The WoW dwarf has more character in his mustache than those creepy EQ2 dolls will ever have.

WTF, that is just mean! :( You already have one MMO to play, you don't have time for another! Bad rogue, shooooo, bad rogue!!

Dear Shanter,

I would be interested in your BETA slot if your brother doesn't take it. Please ignore any rogues that may be babbling on about it; I would truely cherish the spot more than that silly rogue who clearly will be busy every night with another MMO. I would love it, and stroke it, and name it George.

Regards,

Archeiron

p.s. I am probably going to lose the last peices of my sanity soon over failing to get a Beta slot after so many draws. I may lose it and go on a killing spree. For God's sake, think of the children, man!! :(

I've purchased every Blizzard Game, usually multiple copies for almost 10 years and registered them... you would think that they would make sure such a loyal customer got in :)
