More on Fair and Balanced...

Post by Marbus »

Here is a price example of Fox News' biased reporting... even their polls are biased... check this out.
I listened to the speech
I did not listen to the speech
I did not listen but wish I had
I would not listen to any Kerry speech
None of the above
There is no positive choice...

Some context would be helpful here.

It's been firmly established that all networks are biased. FOX happens to be the conservative news channel.

All your example appears to be doing is asking about whether you watched a Kerry speech and not whether you agreed or disagreed with it though.

haha if that had been a Bush poll you would have bitched up a storm about it being biased and how typical it was for media which is a liberal conspiracy!

Sorry, yes it was "We showed a speech by Senator John Kerry" then the poll.. there is no option as to "I like it" or anything positive. Thus when they give the results tonight they can continue being negative.

I know they are biased so I don't watch them except for a good laugh. However I take offense at the whole "Fair and Balanced" crap.

There is no option saying you disliked it either. It is simply a poll to see if you watched the Kerry speech. Your opinion of the content, whether positive of negative, is not being requested.

Stop bashing FOX's good name! :)

All I'm saying is there should have been an options saying you liked or agreed with it... not that anyone watching Fox probably would but still...

Well, you know Marbus, you never gave us the context so we could judge for ourselves. Perhaps all they were asking was the blindingly simple question, "Did you listen"? Maybe they really didn't give a hoot whether you agreed or not? Sometimes surveys ask questions for the author's reasons and not the readership.

It's there to be complete. It's a valid option. If someone isn't going to ever watch a speech then they want to know that as well.

Met, my apology for not beginning this thread more clearly, you have a valid point there. And you are right, I can change the channel and do quite often.

Then wouldn't they want to know if someone is going to watch all his speeches and add in that option as well? If they really are looking to be 'complete' like you stated.
