but the article said he slowed down to 10mph, i would have expected a 100mph baby flying out of the window from that caption.

This was over and done a week before the mainstream news got hold of it. They played it up pretty big because they did have the footage from the cop car. The guy slowed down and got the kid out of the car because he knew the cops were behind him and that he was going to be in a high speed chase that could end bad (as it did). So while not liking the guy I do respect that he thought enough to get the kid out of the car before he got into a big accident. I think it would have been worse if he crashed with the child still in the car.
