Is that true?As you may know, the FOX News Channel is not allowed in Canada, but CNN is.

Too often it seems it is the peaceful and innocent who are slaughtered. In this a lesson may be found that it may not be prudential to be either too peaceful or too innocent. One does not survive with wolves by becoming a sheep.

The more ORielly I read, the more he fits into the fucking tinfoil hat caste of North American culture. Doesn't he sound like he should be writing for a UFO zine?
Oh nos! Some stupid Canadian brats are trying to be cool by pretending to fight Teh Man! The same shit is happening in the U.S. It's all teenage posturing. It's the same reason "anarchy" shirts are mass-produced and sold at Hot Topic.

Let's think the unthinkable, let's do the undoable, let's prepare to grapple with the ineffable itself, and see if we may not eff it after all. - Douglas Adams
IIRC O'Reilly said FOX reporters are not allowed into Canada.
I remember him pointing out that Al'Jazeera (sp?), if I remember the name of that news agency correctly, was allowed to send journalists/reporters to Canada, but Canada didn't want/allow FOX reporters into Canada.
Whether this is true I don't know, but if it is... /boggle.

The CRTC has denied Fox News channel access to Canadian markets due to restrictions on foreign media companies. Fox News Canada was granted a license back in 2000, a partnership with CanWest that Fox later backed out of. MSNBC operates in a similar manner in Canada through a partnership with Rogers and Shaw. CNN was grandfathered in and avoids these regulations.Aruman wrote:IIRC O'Reilly said FOX reporters are not allowed into Canada.

Anyone else notice the little blurb at the end of that article where he was actually defending Halliburton? Jesus christ, even I had more respect for the guy than that.
War is an option whose time has passed. Peace is the only option for the future. At present we occupy a treacherous no-man's-land between peace and war, a time of growing fear that our military might has expanded beyond our capacity to control it and our political differences widened beyond our ability to bridge them. . . .
Short of changing human nature, therefore, the only way to achieve a practical, livable peace in a world of competing nations is to take the profit out of war.
--RICHARD M. NIXON, "REAL PEACE" (1983)
"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, represents, in the final analysis, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children."
Dwight Eisenhower
