Democrats are pussies
Democrats are pussies
"I admire them, they are good at what they do," he said to me.
"What is it that they do, Karl?" I asked, dumbfounded.
He giggled and said "well... they lie, cheat, manipulate, distort, and feed the propaganda machine, but they do it with impeccable proficiency." We both started laughing.
My friend Karl is a E-6 staff sergeant in the United States Army. He served his country for a year longer than he originally signed up for, and he served in Baghdad. His job in the military police in Baghdad was to round up criminals/terrorists and send them to prison.
He's told me many stories. Stories of soldiers he knew that died, stories of people begging them for food and water or children cheering them on as they drove by, stories of mortars dropping within 100 yards of where he slept, stories of raiding people's houses and sometimes going to the wrong house, but the most telling story of all: before he left, he was a Republican, now he is a Democrat.
We were chatting last night and you know what? He's right. Republicans are generally better at getting stuff done. They are more organized, more determined, and more apt to preserve the values they were taught as children. These are traits I want in my leaders, but I must say that they also have traits I despise, like distorting the truth.
Our topic of conversation last night was their success at labeling democrats as tree-hugging hippy non-patriotic pussies. They've successfully turned the word liberal into an insult. "They call us pussies, nevermind that the very man that is my commander-in-chief went AWOL when it came time for him to serve his country, while the man running against him not only served, but shot people and was shot at, took and saved lives, and recieved medals for his actions, and they have the audacity to declare that he is not fit to be commander-in-chief? As a soldier, I know who I want my leader to be, it's an easy choice."
He's right. Why is it that we are not talking about Dubya's military service? Why are we not talking about Dubya's political decisions? Or his track record as an alcoholic, an evangelical christian, or a failed business man and failed president? It's simple, Republicans are better than us at propaganda. They know precisely how to shift the focus from their misgivings to their opponent's, and they do it with the fervor of a rabid dog cornered and fighting for its life. They make no bones about it, they don't try to hide it, they will tell you bluntly to your face that you are whatever they say you are, be it true or not, and you are a pussy for not doing it to them. "It is evil. They appeal to the evil in people's nature, and sadly they get cheered on by half of the population" Karl said as we watched the end of the football game. "They are filled with so much hate that they are blinded by the fact that Bush does seem a bit like Hitler, and when you tell them that, they don't laugh you off, they get extremely defensive, as if it is the truth of the statement that hurts them."
But both Karl and I believe they will lose this election. We think it will be a landslide for Kerry. Not because of the swing vote or the Democrat's mobilization, but because we believe that many Republicans simply will not vote. Whether consciously or sub-consciously, they will stay home on election day. We have faith that the population at large is not as stupid as they think it is. Yes, I said it, faith in people's nature to want to do what is right, and if we are wrong then so be it, America will show its true colors to the rest of the world and we will have to endure whatever consequences that leads to.

The guy has heard half truths and embraces them as fact.
Hitler labels are hurled by dumbfounded and desperate. Bush is by no means a meserizing orator, or a cult of personality.
He's no better than a die hard Bush supporter who blinds himself to questions about the administration's honesty. He's just on the other political side.

You know the one... like Michael Moore was waving at the RNC crowd the other night.
I could give a shit about Michael Moore but in the context of this thread it worked fine. Anybody who saw the assclown waving the "L" during Cheney's speech will know what I mean.Kelshara wrote:Metanis do you get excited every time you throw Michael Moore out there? Michael Moore is a symbol of everything wrong with people like you Kelshara. He is a convenient way to point out the untruthfulness and hypocrisy of the left end of the political spectrum. Invoking his name is a code-word thing, similar to the liberals invoking Halliburton or Enron any time they want to try and talk about corporate malfeasance.
In the context of this current events category of a message board, I do strongly feel you are losers if you don't (approximately) agree with my viewpoint. And if you had a shred of honesty about you then you would admit a similar point of view. If you are all touchy feely about being called a loser, then perhaps you don't have the courage of your convictions. Arnold had a word for your type... Girlie men.
I am sorry, but I do not worship at the House of Metanis. That is basically what your saying is it not? If someone dares have a different view point or strays from the path then they are not worthy, they are, using your words losers. I am surprised that someone who professes belief in god feels this way. Why, well because I've always believed that god is in everyone and that what people say, do and believe (even non belief) is their expression of his message. I try to learn from what they say and do even if I do not agree with it then offer my take on it. That way I can understand them better and in so doing understand myself better. I would never think of putting my own opinion above anyone else’s because that would be putting my own mind above god's, which is something I do not believe in. Now does that mean that I won't argue my opinion? Of course not, it is my interpretation of the message and like everyone else deserves to be heard. Otherwise if I just keep it to myself how can anyone learn, as I wish to learn from them?Metanis wrote: In the context of this current events category of a message board, I do strongly feel you are losers if you don't (approximately) agree with my viewpoint. I can't believe you people haven't given up trying to talk sense into a lost fucking cause like metanis or midnyte yet. Just flame them; that is all they are good for. Neither has ever once in their entire posting history ever said anything remotely intelligent or poignant, but you keep expecting them to.
I am just enjoying myself bookmarking all these threads so I can dredge them back up after Kerry wins the election.

I don't know I often ask myself that question as well. I guess it's just my own personal belief that what I say or do whatever the context or location is who I am. I tend to give that consideration to everyone and I apologize for doing that in your case. People can say oh it's just a message board, but I don't change the way I see things and my beliefs just because it's not face to face.Metanis wrote:Why argue with someone who only reads the parts they want to?Crav wrote:I am sorry, but I do not worship at the House of Metanis. Metanis, I will try to post this as simply as I can:
1) FACT: Bush AWOL'd to avoid Vietnam service.
2) FACT: Bush stated that there were, without a doubt, weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, but has failed to show us proof of the existance of these weapons even after we have taken control of that country.
3) FACT: Bush is the only Felon to ever serve as the President of the United States of America.
4) FACT: Bush was quoted saying "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice........ yo...you can't fool me again."
5) FACT: He promised us Bin Laden would be captured and brought to justice.
Now, if you wish I can provide you sources for all of these facts. However, I want you to show me some facts about Kerry and why he should not be president. Remember, FACTS is the keyword here.

Not a factor in the election. Bush isn't running on his military record, Kerry is trying to run on his though. Clinton proved that military record has zero impact.Acies wrote: 1) FACT: Bush AWOL'd to avoid Vietnam service.
Bush was given incorrect information from our intelligence agencies. On top of that, his campaign managers came up with the excellent description of Saddam himself being a weapon of mass destruction.Acies wrote: 2) FACT: Bush stated that there were, without a doubt, weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, but has failed to show us proof of the existance of these weapons even after we have taken control of that country.
It's a valid issue regarding our intelligence agencies and both sides have vowed to reform them so it's a wash.
Felon? What felony? Do you have a link to an official document and not speculation stating Bush is a felon?Acies wrote:

Bin Laden is a figurehead. His capture or confirmed death won't change anything except gain Bush votes as liberals seem to think Bin Laden is the mastermind when it suits them and think Bin Laden is a puppet when it doesn't suit them.
I personally think it would be best not to tell anyone if Bin Laden were confirmed dead as it would only martyr him while leaving it an unknown weakens his influence even more.

1) True, he is not resting on his dubious military career, because it would not support him (not a bash, just a fact).
2) Regardless of what he was told, he is responsible. That is the heavy burden of leadership and he fucked up.
3) Going AWOL is a felony offense.
4) Do a google search for that quote, you can find it man.
5) Please, do not make me a liberal or a democrat in your mind Winnow. I am a registered independant. I vote for whomever is best (or in this case will do the least damage). I agree with you personally that Bin Laden being killed and not a soul alive knowing of it would probably be the best possible course of ation. Excepting that Bush promised us his capture. I do not care if it is now convient for him to off Bin Laden secretly, because he made a promise to the citizens of the U.S. If he is unwilling or unable to fufill his word, then he should never have given it in the first place.

Regarding your request:

3. The AWOL deal has been spun a billion times over. They will argue about what "is" is with regards to shrub's NG record. If you're looking for an undeniable, spinless point of attack, try his multiple DUI infractions and having his license suspended for 540 days (implying no less than 2 violations).Acies wrote:Responding down the list:Winnow wrote:Not a factor in the election.

It is curious however that Bush's record is unassailable...while Kerry's clearly needs revision to accomodate their political desires...Kelgar wrote:3.
3) FACT: Bush is the only Felon to ever serve as the President of the United States of America.
Not sure what you're talking about here.Acies wrote: 4) FACT: Bush was quoted saying "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice........ yo...you can't fool me again."

And apparently we need to revise court records of the time as well and add in a Treason conviction for Kerry as they are so fond of pointing out that he committed treason...
Hell with it let's just revise it and imprison him that'll will solve it completely...Those pesky facts need not get in the way of what we want to believe...

No seriously you should be laughing at yourself. You are so clueless there isn't much else you can do but laugh at yourself.
You know why the liberals can never quite get people to buy their horseshit? It's because most people don't knowingly deceive themselves.
If you want to put facts on the table then do so. Your post was just another liberal recital of innuendo and smear. So by all means... put facts on the table.

Actually I never said he was the mastermind. He is widely recognized as the leader of Al Qaeda though. Thus capturing the "leader" is important and does help the fight against terrorism.Kelshara wrote:Uh only person I have seen saying bin Laden is the mastermind is Midnyte. If you would like. But, I concede I cannot keep up with your childish games. You will defeat me 100% of the time. You are a master of conversing like a child. I just cannot compete.Kelshara wrote:Nice backpedaling Midnyte. Want me to quote your responses when I called him a figure-head and said he was not the tactical leader?

War pickles men in a brine of disgust and dread.
Bush forgot a saying? That's like criticizing Bush Sr because he accidentally said November 7th instead of December 7th once for the Pearl Harbor anniversary date. It happens.Karae wrote:For Winnow: http://mp3.dubyaspeak.com/foolmeonce.mp3
Jumping on misquotes of this type are about as desparate as you can get to try and convince yourself of something.
Bush admitted he's not going to rank at the top of the class when it comes to being some sort of an Oxford english master of the language.
