This things gone all kinds of squirrelly...eyewall blow out now shearing from 20 kt westerlies but theres a front trailing edge that may hold it out long enough to rebuild...I would hate to have to predict this one with any accuracy...

It's supposed to only be a storm when it gets to Orlando, I hope that's right.

NOAA is sticking with the120kt wind at landfall forecast to be safe...the forecasters and ship and plane and sat folks are betting more like cat 2 now...

they wont say that officially though cause it could redevelop and you dont want people turning around and goin back in if it should...

Ivan however is taking a very long run...nother cat 4 on the way quite possible...the thing went TS way out...very strong stuff

Fkn hurricane. I haven't seen wind or rain for days now, yet my car was already damaged while moving a shutter. Yeah, yeah, I should have moved the cars away. Going to have to replace a side mirror (top all scratched up and dinged) and try to get a tiny dent out of that portion along the windshield and driver window that goes up to the roof. Worst thing is, the car has a $1K deductible, so it all comes out of my pocket. Man, for a thousand bucks, I wanna see a fkn cow flying through the air!

Go up to Gainesville, sure they have regularly scheduled departures for Moo Airlines.

Anyways, the damn thing is definitely a Florida hurricane.. driving 4 mph in the left lane pissing off everyone.

Current projections have it making landfall between saturday afternoon and early sunday morning, with rainstorms lasting between 24-36 hours in some regions. Winds have lost a lot of speed, but when it hits the gulfsteam it should pick up some more speed, especially if it keeps crawling at 4mph.

I am starting to think god is punishing Florida for the 2000 election.

Damn straight! HE wants a solid win for George this time and no more of this piddling tie bullshit. 1,000,000 vote margin for GW or Florida gets the double rinse cycle!

Jeb may have to resort to outright gunning blacks down in the streets in their 1000's instead of intimidating them or hiding their votes like they did in 2000 to get a margin like that.

This thing is boring as hell, theres a curfew, less rain then a normal summer rainstorm and that fuckers moving at 4 mph. At least charley was considerate to come and leave, and not linger around and kill my weekend :x

Didnt they predict that if a massive super-hurricane, or a whole bunch of strong hurricanes hit Florida in a small time period that it would alter the actual shape of Florida?

Frances is fucking pathetic. Its moving too damn slow to cause any really significant damage. Now its just a fucking pain
interesting note: first confirmed death from frances was a 18year old kid getting eletrocuted in the bahamas while trying to start a generator in the rain

Police in the Orlando area said 10 thieves used a stolen car to smash into a store and steal about $10,000 worth of clothing, and two men were arrested as they tried to steal an ATM machine with a chain saw.

Too lazy to look for a story on it but a guy broke into a restaurant (reasons unknown) and cops pulled up out front. Figured he'd hide out in a dumpster til they left... they found him in the grease bin. Sucks for him.

Frances is a fucking bitch of a storm.

Knocked out power to myself and about 3 million others yesterday morning, yet all we got was 30 hours of constant drizzle. Not pouring sheets of rain, not the horizontal rain found only in Florida, just drizzle. We did get some good wind though that manahed to uproot a few trees and signs, but the worst property damage I have seen within 10 miles of my place was a few blown out store signs.

If Ivan does head this way, then I think it is time to get the hell out of here because Florida is so screwed. The Hillsborough river goes through my backyard and it has already overflowed its banks, so another good storm may push it into the housing that is only ten feet away at some points.
