Another Medal you don't deserve!
Grats Yang Tae Young, Alexei Nemov on the real Gold Medals.

War pickles men in a brine of disgust and dread.
And the Russian took a huge step on his landing- even he isn't saying he deserved the gold.
Get your tinfoil hat fixed, Karae. You're driving yourself fucking insane with your conspiracy theories.

Actually Winnow there is a difference though.. the judging of the actual jumping is subjective, not giving a 10 as a start value is a major fuck-up. I didn't see the second competition you talk about, but there should definitely be two golds at LEAST for the first one.
Of course, I don't expect you to ever agree to anything even remotely negative towards your country though.

No winnow is correct on this point tho. He paused 4 times, and the limit is 3, and the 4th with a .10 deduction or something like that. They missed that. So even if he did get the full 10 on his round, he still would have ended up short. If your going to go back and change things, Replay the whole performace fully, not just one part to add points. Do it faily and fully.
I do agree the judges screwed up. But they messed up one good thing, and one bad thing. In the end he would have been in the spot he got anyways.
Video replay will only open a can of worms. We wont get in to all the other times America was fucked out of a gold metal while in another country.
No, there shouldnt be 2 gold metals awarded. He recived it by winning. The other guy, if fully judged correctly would have only won the bronze still. This is fact.

Yes...because both Russia and South Korea are Communist.Winnow wrote:Grats Hamm!
The video review of the disputed Korean start value performance showed three more flaws that should have been deducted that would have made Hamm the winner anyway...stuff you don't read in your Hammer and Sickle daily journal!
WELCOME TO REALITY IDIOT.
I'm sure a video review of Hamm's routine would show similar mistakes in judging. Making those kind of mistakes is forgivable and expected, but handicapping athletes, whether on purprose or on accident, is not.
As for last night. Nemov's routine, if he hadn't stepped, should have scored a 9.950+. It was the most difficult routine anyone has ever performed. Taking half a step on a landing is only a .100 deduction. Ironically, the Bronze Medalist took a similar step, yet outscored Nemov with a wholly inferior routine.
Sad thing is, you'd all be screaming bloody murder if the roles were reversed and an American was the one getting fucked over. Try to see past your own front door one of these days.
Kudos to Hamm for sucking it up and performing with all the boos though. He's definitely a great competitor, which makes it all the more tragic that he's winning because of judging mistakes.

Turn in your balls at the door, all of you.

Actually, it did happen almost exactly the same way to an American athelete that cost her a medal. Mohini Bhardwaj in floor exercise. It has also happened to American atheletes in the games many many times....and I am sure it happened to a hell of a lot more country's atheletes. The Canadian skaters from the Winter Olympics comes to mind. I haven't seen anyone start a thread whining about it. I guess you are just more anti-U.S. than anyone on here is pro-U.S.Karae wrote: I'm sure a video review of Hamm's routine would show similar mistakes in

The real easy way to fix it would be to get rid of these stupid "sports" from the Olympics and only have events with real measuements and nto some figure that someone "judges" you to have.

I misordered my statements Kelshara. I meant that to be read as there has been no whining about the female gymnast that this happened to last night....I know there were about the winter olympics....as well there should have been. It goes to further my point though....the U.S. people were just as appalled at that scandal as the Canadians. The main point is that judged competitions are ALWAYS going to have bias in some form.

Fucking please. Karae is the most rabidly anti-American person on this board. If he hated this country any more, he'd be another Timothy McVeigh.
p.s. You are still all fags for discussing gymnastics.

There is a difference here between not being "as loving" and hyper-critical of everything and every action of the U.S. Karae comes across as someone that hates their country...and if that is the case then moving the hell out is a very good option.Kelshara wrote:Ah ok gotcha.. I see what you mean now.
And Winnow.. you are starting to sound really pathetic. Just because somebody isn't as loving of the US as you are (worship.. if it was a guy you would suck it off etc) doesn't make him/her a commie. That just sounds really really stupid.

Blindly patriotic? How is rooting for American Olympians that?
And before you bring up other forums, I don't see him posting half the crazy shit in the CE forum that some do, and while he does often criticize Kerry, it's not like he always turns that around into praise for Dubya.

Most of my criticism of Kerry is from a campaign point of view as I've stated. I'm viewing everything in terms of reelection and suggesting what will and won't help with either candidate's reelection.
I've been around the globe and like where I live after seeing some other options. Karae is a sick ungrateful fuck that can only hate. He is on the level of the Baldwins that threaten to leave if so and so is elected but puss out afterwards only to continue whining about everything. He may possibly be the lost 5th Baldwin brother.
No country is perfect and there is always plenty to improve but being universally negative is simply showing your juvenile ignorance.

I'm not being negative in this topic. It's just a simple fact that Hamm won the medals he won because of judging errors. Sorry if you can't handle the truth.
No..wait..I'm not sorry. Just deal with it.
Hamm performed exceptionally and, frankly, I think he's as much a victim as the other athletes.
But by all means, continue to smear me unfounded rhetoric...I really don't give a flying fuck for your opinion of me. Actually, I think your negative opinion of me actually increases my self esteem.

I can't believe this arguement has lasted this long. Men's gymnastics will now go away for 4 more years. No one will care by Thursday and I personally feel nothing that is based on a judging criteria can be a true sport.
Almost every event that goes by judging is unfair. They penalize the early athletes (yes I think that they are athletic feats, just not sports) and VERY rarely does a long shot win after a brilliant routine.
As for Karae, I think I saw he is a college student. If this is so then he is at that point in life where he is questioning everything. There is nothing wrong with that. As you get older you mellow out, plain and simple. I don't think he is unpatriotic, he is just a idealist that has not had the world wear him down yet. We need some of that to balance things out.

When I was younger, I used to think that the world was doing it to me and that the world owes me some thing…When you're a teeny bopper, that's what you think. I'm 40 now, I don't think that anymore, because I found out it doesn't f--king work. One has to go through that. For the people who even bother to go through that, most assholes just accept what it is anyway and get on with it." - John Lennon
