Knockaround Guys

Post by Bubba Grizz »

Saw it this weekend at a matinee. From the commercials I thought this was going to be a lighter version of a mob movie but I was wrong. The acting by the older guys, Hopper and Malcovich was really good but the other guys (main characters) were kind of weak. It seemed that the intent was that we should feel something for these kids wanting to walk in their parents shoes but it never really panned out. If I had to rate the movie I would give it a C+. I know that doesn't mean much coming from be because I like a lot of things that others really don't. I wouldn't judge due to my observations, go see it yourself and decide.

...Or don't.

This movie was overall very, very dull. Long and boring. Don't even rent the damned thing.

Is it "you would rather see "lionheart" with Van Damme" bad?? I wanted to go see a solid action flick, but I suppose this isn't it.
Don't blame me if you see my old characters acting like asses.

It's fall ladies and gentlemen...

which means there will be a total lack of good films until the holidays...specifically christmas, but sometimes a couple creep out at thanksgiving...

Jackass The Movie , Oct 25 !! I'll be here , its just one that will be worth the $8.0 to sit and laugh my ass off the entire time. I know almost everyone here liked the series (even you closet watchers).

Yeah I think I'd rather watch Lionheart again than Knockaround Guys. Did anyone see the Transporter yet? I was considering going to go see that movie.

I saw the Transporter.. honestly, I thought it was a good movie. It was a little short on plot, and there isn't as much driving as I'd expect, but it looked pretty good on all other fronts. Also a change of pace for a movie to be set in the London / France area (can't tell which, think France) from the norm.. and there are a couple of fight scenes that were just damn good.. the oil slick part was great, imo.

Not sure why the director made every shot fired be a tracer, but oh well. :(

But I guess that on the other hand, I could be like the rest.

I thought the last half of Transporter was horrible, like they took their time writing the first half and then realized what day it was and had to make a deadline with it.

But then, I liked the Knockaround Guys, so may not want to take my word for it. It had it's flaws in the plot but all in all was more entertaining than the Transporter imo.

You know, there are no words to express just how truly rotten Jackass is, other than it is Kyoukan-level entertainment.
