What type of computer information are you looking for?

Computers, networking, etc. are a pretty broad set of subjects. What platforms are you focused on? Windows? Mac? Linux? Just home use? Networking? Wireless? Wired? Network Security? Enterprise networking?

More data needed.

I agree, MaximumPC. I have been reading it since it was boot magazine.

Computer Gaming World magazine is mostly game oriented but with a good amount of equipment reviews...

The last two posts are spot on. You might also want to consider just getting an online subscription to gamespot.com. They've got an immense amount of information available ranging from hardware to software, and for all gaming platforms.

I pick up CGW, MaximumPC (have been reading it since it was Boot as well :) ) and PC Lamer.

There are a few others that I get from time to time but the quality isn't as consistent as those 3.

I've found that CGW is one of the better magazines you can get, especially if you're looking for a humorous aspect.

They run equipment comparisons in most issues, from complete PC's to video cards and even gaming items (joystick etc). They also every now and then bring out an "Ultimate" setup system for gaming with all the best stuff - pretty interesting.

CGW was much better in the beginning, imo. I stopped reading it when it when the ads started to outnumber the articles. I haven't looked at it lately, though.

I still miss Family Computing before they said "screw you" to the common end-user and went to business users instead.
