Jane Fonda Spam Email

Post by Winnow »

Is this email hitting a lot of your inboxes? It slipped past my spam blocker.

Subject: Jane Fonda

Restaurant owner in Montana!

On America FM 100.7 (A local radio station) was doing one of their "Is anyone listening" bits this morning. This first one was, "Ever have a celebrity pull the "Do you know who I am' routine?" A woman called in and said that a few years back, while visiting her cattle rancher uncle in Billings, MT., they had occasion to go to dinner at a restaurant that does not take reservations. The wait was about 45 minutes Lots of other rancher types and their spouses were already waiting.

In comes Ted Turner and Jane Fonda. They want a table. The hostess says they'll have to wait about 45 minutes. Jane Fonda asks the hostess if she knows who she is. "Yes, but you'll still have to wait 45 minutes."

Then Jane says, "Is the manager in?" The manager comes out, "May I help you?" Do you know who I am?" ask both Jane and Ted. "Yes, but these folks have all been waiting already and I can't put you in ahead of them."

Then Ted asks to speak to the owner The owner comes out. Jane again asks, "Do you know who I am?" The owner says, "Yes, I do. Do you know who I am? I am the owner of this restaurant and a Vietnam Veteran. Not only will you not get a table ahead of all of my friends and neighbors here, but you also will not be eating in my restaurant tonight or any other night. Good bye."

All these emails should start with "I never thought I would have anything to write to Penthouse Forum about..."

We don't have the massive celebrity focus here.. so I wasn't aware of Jane's involvement (as it were) in Vietnam..

It's strange that the first page I found about it was maintained by someone who wasn't even alive at the time, and that in retrospect I have trouble finding too many problems with her argument (I'll grant you taking photo ops w/ enemy soldiers looks bad)

It was interesting to see someone alive at the time explain why flags were burnt:
The only way to get the attention of the big newspapers and tv networks was to do something dramatic and outrageous--like burning a flag. When we tried to give them reason, facts and arguments, they ignored us. When we burned a flag, or a draft card, or had an illegal demonstration, *then* they paid attention to us. The news media actually encouraged the most violent elements of the anti-war movement, because they would cover violent demonstrations but not non-violent demonstrations. The Weathermen got on TV, while the peaceful protesters, the college professors with their detailed facts and arguments, were ignored. That's why anti-war demonstrators burned the flag.
And just as interesting to see the site host miss the point entirely, spouting stuff like "let history judge" when what he means is "my grandpa disagrees, you hippy scumbag".

I'm not sure if I find it heartening that the media has been the catalyst for drastic action on both sides for longer than I realised..

wow look another mass email making up a story about a famous leftist that righties like to pass around to make themselves feel better, that will ultimately turn out to be another falsification.

amazing!

there is enough in the world to make fun of without having to invent shit out of thin air. but since righties are usually the butt of so many jokes I guess they have to create their own so they don't look clownish and insipid in to themselves.

also I saw george bush and sean hannity having gay sex at denny's this morning, after sacrificing christian babies in the name of allah. the address of the restaurant is 1296 BROADWAY W,
VANCOUVER, BC V6H 1G6 CA so you know it's true.

I'm still wondering why you make so many goddam retarded posts.

If it was true, (and this isn't...it's an easy google to find that out) I would say it's definately pathetic to push your way to the front using assumed status but it's not pathetic to deny someone food for being an ass in your restaurant.

That has to do with anyone. It's not a political thing at all.

Ted owns a shitload of land.
New Mexico:
Turner, who owns the 360,000-acre Armendaris Ranch and the 155,000-acre Ladder Ranch near Truth or Consequences, recently acquired the 580,000-acre Vermejo Park Ranch in northeastern New Mexico.

COMMENTARY:
Let's see now. 1,095,000 acres equals 1,711 square miles of New Mexico. Ted Turner owns a chunk of New Mexico that aggregated would be a rectangular parcel of land 85 miles long by 20 miles wide.

Turner also owns hundreds of thousands of acres in Montana.
What's the scoop Voro? Does Ted have a method to his land purchases or does he just like to own a lot of land?

Ted likes Montana, and he's a rich son of a bitch. that = lots of land =).

part of it is involved in the supply end of his restaurant chain i think (buffalo farms, etc).

Ted isnt involved at all in operations at Turner anymore, and everybody who was here when he was (i wasnt) really misses that crazy son of a bitch :p

I said that it will be proven fake just like every other one of those rightie lies you retards like to cook up. in what way was I "off my game"?

I don't have to look horse shit up like this on snopes to know its a lie. every time you vomitous yokels open your cum holes a lie comes out of it. you're incapable of facing the truth because the truth would probably drive you to end your miserable lives.

My post is clearly labeled "Spam" and my question was if it was getting by other spam blockers. I make no mention of it being true anywhere in my post. Your loss of control over the content is your own problem which lead me to post a second time to further enjoy the show.

Could someone tell me what Jane Fonda did? I've heard so much about her in association with Kerry, but I'm unfamiliar with the specifics of who she is.

She went to North Vietnam to protest the war and made an ass of herself. Kerry happened to be at one of the same ralleys Jane was at:

Soldiers in Vietnam didn't appreciate Jane sitting in gun turrets in North Vietnam while americans were dying in South Vietnam.
