New Star Wars movie: 'Revenge of the Sith'
SAN DIEGO - How does "Revenge of the Sith" sound? That's the title of "Star Wars, Episode Three."
It was revealed on Saturday at the big comic and sci-fi convention in San Diego called Comic-Con International.
George Lucas sent the guy who's in charge of fan relations to make the announcement. He got up in front of the crowd of six-thousand and pulled off a baseball jersey to reveal a black T-shirt with the words "Revenge of the Sith."
The new movie shows how Luke Skywalker's father, Anakin, is transformed from a sweet-natured slave boy to the galaxy bully Darth Vader.
The Sith is the evil sect that corrupts Anakin by drawing him into the dark side of the Force - the cosmic power that balances the universe.
"Star Wars, Episode Three: Revenge of the Sith" is expected to be in theaters next May 19.

Is it just me or is that name not very exciting (or original)?

But too similar to Return of the Jedi!Dregor Thule wrote:It's better than fucking Attack of the Clones.
While #2 did have a dumb title it made sense to have 'clones' somewhere in there since the clone wars are part of the Star Wars mythology. Perhaps The Clone Wars would have been better! But then you'd have two 'Wars' in the title. So... I don't know!

Yeah, I hear you on the Ep2 title, it was kinda goofy and didn't really make sense, given that although the clones become the infantry of the empire eventually, it is not like the clones were a separate entity invading the republic or whatever on their own volition.
Ok, maybe splitting hairs on that, but the title was stupid...
However, despite the myriad of problems in Ep2 (not even going to talk about Ep1), it did have some cool moments. Those cool moments, however, were overshadowed by horrible over/under acting(?) by both Portman and Christianson(sp).
All I ask from Ep3 is....well, I will take a 10 buckets of ewok slop over 1 sequence of jarjar.

I must be the only person not to hate the Ewoks.
As for Christianson and Portman, they lack so much chemistry it's almost a negative hole of chemistry. They suck chemistry out of those around them. Casting in general is pretty horrid. I think the only people they got right were Obi-wan, the Emperor and freaking Yoda. Oh ya, and what's his name is good. Christopher Lee? Count Dooku.

Yeah, Christopher Lee. Great job there! I also agree on the emp. Let's not forget R2D2!Dregor Thule wrote:I must be the only person not to hate the Ewoks.

Portman looked just plain lost(did she get to read the script?)
Christianson is just awful. Hell, Scott Baio would be able to act circles around that guy, and isn't he like 80 now?
For Ep2, they needed MORE TRAGEDY!
1. OK, Anakin's mom died, but we really didn't get to know her so her loss was not heavy, like the at least temporary loss of Han Solo...or even the loss of Luke's hand for that matter--Ms. Skywalker died and I didn't really care.
2. What made Empire such a huge favorite of SW fans is all of the tragedy, the formula worked, even to this day!
3. Did I mention how bad the primary characters were at acting?? When one is overshadowed by Mark Hammill, that is bad!
Despite all of that, there were some pretty sweetass fight scenes!
PS: OK, I liked Wikkett(sp), that fuzzy little bastard.

I'm fucking boycotting this unless I read reviews that indicate Jesus returns through this film. Fuck George Lucas and fuck what he did to my favorite galaxy far, far away.
That said, the IMAX version of Clones was SOOOO much better than the theatrical cut, I might have to see that. Imagine Clones with the lamest shit in the movie cut out (the Mannequin/Portman fall in love scenes) and some beefed-up fight scenes.

Basically, it's because Lucas ran out of creative juice back in 1985.
