Good *cheap* webhosts

Post by Ransure »

Hey all, Im looking for a host and was wondering if anyone had some experiance with some inexpensive webhosts that would let me host both images and pages without popups/add's and allow direct linking?

Im planning on heading to Europe for a few months, so a provider that offers web login and FTP would also be a good thing...

I have no idea as to the quality of service from these guys, but I ran across this (http://www.deezsites.com/) and have it bookmarked to look into one day.

I will second Xouqoa's recomendation for phpwebhosting. They have a very slick setup and only $9.95 a month.

I use Powweb. It charges about 7.77 a month if you pay for a full year and then it gives you 2 months free on top of that.

I don't think so Ran, you'd have to write them and ask.

I've been using http://www.lunarpages.com for my nephew's website. It's $7.95 per/month with no setup fee if you pay for a full year in advance. You get 800MB storage/ 40GB bandwidth per month, php/asp/jsp/etc, one mysql database, unlimited e-mail accounts, up to 15 subdomains (like forums.yourdomain.com, etc.). You get FTP access for publishing as well as public FTP accounts for file hosting. On top of that, it has a pretty nice control interface.
