Old School was better, but take nothing away from this movie. Some of the best completely random humor I've ever seen. Great job by all involved. I laughed throughout the entire movie.
Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.
It was pretty fucking funny. The plot is rather absurd at times, but it is hilarious. The audience was about as loud as i've ever heard for that scene on the bridge.
"It's like these guys take pride in being ignorant."- Barack Obama
I just rented this and I must admit it is the worst movie I have ever seen. I liked Battlefield Earth better than this piece of shit. I was able to stomach only about 30 minutes of it and that was only because I think Christina Applegate is hot. Even that wasn't enough to keep this movie in my DVD player. I liked Will Ferrel before this but this movie has moved him into my Adam Sandler no-see-list.
Did it occur to you that the movie is actually fucking genius, but you're just too fucking devoid of anything resembling a personality to have enjoyed it? Ahh the arrogance that you should even be allowed to express your worthless, inept, inconsequential opinion.
Fucking sad is what it is.

Defensive much? I like how your next sentence calls him arrogant. I don't recall anyone proclaiming a queen of veeshanvault. All that Nair going to your head?
You've swapped flamers there, Kev.

Akaran of Mistmoore, formerly Akaran of Veeshan I know I'm good at what I do, but I know I'm not the best.
But I guess that on the other hand, I could be like the rest.
I agree. I didn't particularly care much for Anchorman. I didn't think it was all that. It was funny and smart (at times) but nothing I'd consider "fucking genius".

Agreed. It was funny, just not "haha" funny. I would rate it as an average comedy.

Oh well, he's hairless nonetheless. Which in itself is not a problem, but it's as it's as if hair was the only thing holding back his ego and shaving it off lets the ego run free.

Oh noes I am so pwned. I actually have a well developed sense of humor. I just didn't see anything in the first thirty minutes of this movie that I thought was particularly funny. It was like watching a bad SNL skit for too long.
I will admit that I can be quite arrogant at times. My friends can verify that one for me. In fact I am arrogant enough to really not give a fuck what you think. If I actually cared I might actually find some of your own asinine posts and flame back, but I really don't.
Edit: For the record, I don't care one iota about what movie someone likes. Additionally, though I liked Anchorman (see comments earlier in the thread), I can see where if you weren't even in the right mood, the movie would just be horrible.
I don't really think that you have no personality, or that you're arrogant, Deward, I just wanted to make some people laugh.
Please accept my apology for making you feel the need to justify yourself when no justification is necessary.

Finally saw this. It was ok, as was already said Old School was way better, but then I think Will Ferrell is at his best when he's more of a supporting role. The news team fight was fucking great tho. Tim Robbins with the fro and the pipe screaming "No commercials, no mercy!" had me rolling. Steve Carrell wasn't featured nearly enough
Looking back on this thread tho, some of you acted like dolts!
This was on HBO last night. It was a little over the top for my taste. Super Troopers/Wedding Crashers is my limit to bending reality before the scenes get so far fetched it takes away from the movie. There's only so many times I can see a person's arm get ripped off for comedy's sake and it happened not once but twice in this movie.
