On another note, there was an interesting story in monday's (7th) paper of the Dallas Morning News. I'd link it to you, but they're gay and make you register with an email and log in to view stories, even though it's free, they want to spam you or something...

Apparently Dick Armey's son ran for House and failed to get nomination. Armey is blaming the Dallas Morning News for that failure, and is taking action. The paper is owned by the Belo Corporation and Armey is attempting to pass legislation (in a military appropriations bill) that will force them to sell one of their dallas area media properties, as they own the only major paper in Dallas, a smaller dallas paper, and the local news station WFAA (abc affiliate)

It's a total clusterfuck, and quite humorous to follow.

It somewhat sucks to be in a one paper town, despite the size of Dallas...you only get access to one spin, and since Belo has taken control of the paper and one of the news stations, their spin has changed quite a bit.

This is very fucking pathetic... What has happened on this planet that people have become so thin skinned and easily offended that they lose complete control of themselves and scream "I AM OFFENDED BY THAT" followed almost immediately by a lawsuit of some kind??

The simple fact that sending an email with this poem in it is EVEN AN ISSUE speaks volumes about our society much more than it does about the man that sent it.

I don't think that it is the least bit fitting that this guy should be ridiculed in such a manner that he feels that he must resign from his position. Anyone that views his sending this email as a direct reflection on the Governor is fucking stupid... well unless the "old high school classmate" that sent him the email in the first place was in fact the governor himself.

"I was very, very offended,'' Baham said. "I couldn't believe it.''

I bet this motherfucker got this email, opened it up, started reading it and was laughing his ass off, and then when he was finished he forwarded it to all of his friends. Later he thought "Oh FUCK! I guess I have to go be offended now" haha he may have been the "old high school friend" in question?

I find VERY few things offensive. Some things may be distastful, disgusting, sickening... but certainly not offensive. I'm sure some of you would find THAT list OFFENSIVE /grin

I think people are missing the issue here. It isn't about race or ethnicity, it is about people coming to America illegaly. It just happens that the majority of illegals are ethnic. There is a woman here at work who married a canadian so he could work in the country. 6 months later after he did what he wanted to do, he split. So it isn't just ethnic groups that do this, they are just more visible.

Is there something wrong with not liking what is going on? I suppose if America were a poor nation I'd be looking for a better life elsewhere as well. I can't blame them for wanting to come here but it doesn't mean that I have to like it. It isn't about race, it is about America for Americans and that is Americans of all race, creeds, colors, and ethnic or religious background.

Being PC or being perceived as sensitive to immigrant issues has become a national pasttime in both America and Canada. Hell to all of you who can say there is no truth in that poem go fuck yerselves. The fact is that many many abuse the system and the sad fact is we all pay for it.

My father inlaw (previous marriage) was from Scotland. He had his papers as a general machinist and millwright and was allowed after a thorough investigation to come to Canada. He had to prove the ability to survive 6 months in Canada paying his own way before being allowed to come.
This was in the mid 50's.

Not 20 years later his brother wanted to join him here and as a trained butcher with the ability to open his own shop he was denied entrance to the country. Meanwhile the doors were open to a flood of unskilled immigrants and their parents of retirement age. WTF.

Yes there is the opposite side to every story however showing the truth in a somewhat crass but humorous manner should not be shit on. Bah flame away.

Second is, who says Boy Scouts are not political I made it to Eagle Scout and I can verify that there is more political manuevering in the Scouts than in any other organization or business I have been a member of. Internally and externally, BSA is a PR organization 99% of the time.

The original poem was a bit direct and harsh but the idea of it was right on. Illegals should not be coming here and wasting our tax dollars. I am totally for legal immigrants with defined job skills (defined is a college degree or training in something, not maids or car wash detailers) applying to come to our country. The diversity is great and I have found that most of those that come legally are great workers and really trying to live the american dream. On the other hand we get all these other people who are a complete drag on our society.

I will give an example. Here in Wisconsin we have a huge Hmong population. They come over, marry each other at 13, have umpteen million kids, drive the crime rate through the roof, and get so many handouts from the government it makes me ill without ever actually working a job. Now if they want to come over because they were oppressed or in danger of dieing then fine but don't give them handouts up the wazoo. Give them jobs or education and make them useful to our society. Now I am not saying that they are all lazy but those that choose to be get paid big bucks for being so. I wish I could sit around on my ass all day and get government handouts. My opinion is if you got 2 working arms and legs then you can damn well work.

To make sure everyone understands, I am not racist. If someone talks about an issue like this it does not make them racist. I believe the biggest racist in the US today is Jesse Jackson. Reverse racism is way more rampant than any sort of racism of whites against XYZ group.

The deal with the Hmong is that they sided with us during Viet Nam and our government allowed them to relocate in the states. So technically they are not Illegal. It is annoying however when our government pays out a shit load of money to help these people aclamate themselves and they don't seem to appreciate it and become dependent on it. I am sure there is more to it than that. The only time I see Hmong since I left college is in the casino where we help send Indian children to college equally.

Also, in keeping with the theme I have established in this post, I must also add that you can label me with any derogatory term that you want because I don't really care. I can't say as I am surprised here. I get hung out by the nutz for posting a poem that is deemed racist and then those same people start calling people Cracker and those same people Laugh at the term.

Personally I think single white men without kids are the most discriminated against. Ever get stuck working an extra shift or late because Nancy has to go take care of the kids or is on maternity leave? Ever get denied vacation because you don't have your own family to spend it with? White guys these days are blamed for everything when in fact it all got fucked up a generation or two in the past. We just inheirited the bullshit. Yeah I know there is still a lot of bullshit going on with racism and it sucks but there are a lot of guy who aren't in any way racist getting blamed for shit their grandfathers did. Things won't be better until we all become a light brown and speak the same language. Personally I could give a shit because an asshole is an asshole and it doesn't matter white or black, male or female, rich or poor.
