Nice one!In a letter responding to a freedom of information request by The Associated Press, the Defense Department said that microfilm containing the pertinent National Guard payroll records was damaged and could not be salvaged. The damaged material included payroll records for the first quarter of 1969 and the third quarter of 1972.
Surprised? They lost em!

From "Yes Minister"
Art truely immitates life...Jim: How am I going to explain the missing documents to the Mail?
Sir Humphrey: Well this is what we normally do in, circumstances like these. [hands over a file]
Jim: [reading] This file contains the complete set of papers, except for a number of secret documents, a few others which are part of still active files, a few others lost in the flood of 1967. [to Humphrey] Was 1967 a particularly bad winter?
Sir Humphrey: No a marvellous winter, we lost no end of embarrassing files.
Jim: [reading] Some records which went astray in the move to London, and others when the War Office was incorporated in the Ministry of Defence, and the normal withdrawal of papers whose publication could give grounds for an action for liable or breach of confidence, or cause embarrassment to friendly governments. [to Humphrey] Well that's pretty comprehensive. How many does that normally leave for them to look at? [Humphrey says nothing] How many does that actually leave? About a hundred? Fifty? Ten? Five? Four? Three? Two? One? Zero?
Sir Humphrey: Yes Minister.

This is a case of lies covering more lies. I don't care that he sat in a special unit designed to protect rich kids. What I do care about is that the fucker was too busy snorting coke to even be bothered to show up for that meager responsibility and now he is scrambling to cover up the evidence. It will be interesting to see if Ken Lay decides to push some of GWs buttons to get his ass out of the fire, since they were both in that particular unit and he seems to be the only living person able to state GWs whereabouts at that time.
War is an option whose time has passed. Peace is the only option for the future. At present we occupy a treacherous no-man's-land between peace and war, a time of growing fear that our military might has expanded beyond our capacity to control it and our political differences widened beyond our ability to bridge them. . . .
Short of changing human nature, therefore, the only way to achieve a practical, livable peace in a world of competing nations is to take the profit out of war.
--RICHARD M. NIXON, "REAL PEACE" (1983)
"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, represents, in the final analysis, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children."

Well here then, let me edit Jice's statement for you:Adelrune Argenti wrote:There has been no evidence that Bush snorted coke. Drinking, yes but no coke. Even all the biographers have never found any evidence.
makes a big differenceThis is a case of lies covering more lies. I don't care that he sat in a special unit designed to protect rich kids. What I do care about is that the fucker was too busy getting trashed to even be bothered to show up for that meager responsibility and now he is scrambling to cover up the evidence.
