Crossballs

Post by Sylvus »

Anyone watched it yet? New series on Comedy Central that comes on after The Daily Show. Its name is taken from Crossfire and Hardball, and it's a spoof of both of those shows that uses two real "experts" as well as two comedians/actors posing as the counterpoint. I watched the last couple of nights and it's pretty funny. They interview other fake experts and it's pretty un-pc. The one comedian who played the semi-retarded guy who wanted to be on reality television and the old man on last night's episode really cracks me up. He's good!

Check it out if you haven't, it's made me laugh so far.

"The Real World Cancun is the greatest movie ever made. It was real and it was in Cancun"

The college prof was funny as hell.
When I was younger, I used to think that the world was doing it to me and that the world owes me some thing…When you're a teeny bopper, that's what you think. I'm 40 now, I don't think that anymore, because I found out it doesn't f--king work. One has to go through that. For the people who even bother to go through that, most assholes just accept what it is anyway and get on with it." - John Lennon

Yeah. When he was talking about his idea for the newest reality show to be based on Hogan's Heroes and would involve a group of people living in a concentration camp run by neo nazis I was cracking up.

"We wouldn't only have Jews on the program, there would be gays and gypsies as well."

That black guy looked like he was going to shit himself.

it looks promising as fuck, i caught the most of the reality TV one, most of the cast are vets from other funny shows, my fav being upright citizens brigade, the show reruns of that during the day sometimes, easily the funniest/most original skit comedy show since python, i think on par funny with kids in the hall, but more original

i hope they keep episodes coming, one thing i cant stand about comedy central is they make a handful of a new show, then air them as new for a whole season

Yeah, UCB is hilarious, I recently bought the first season on DVD. The guy who was Adair in that show has been in both of the Crossballs episodes I've seen so far.

I recommend picking the UCB dvd up if you don't have it, it's great.

The marihjuana one today was great.
Although I wish they had an expert in drug legalization and a comedian acting out a pissed off Jerry Falwell-like bible beater opposed to the opposite

Yeah, it's always 2 actors (and the host) and 2 real people who don't know they are being toyed with. Additionally they will have another actor or two "live via satellite".

I was reading the website and it said that they filmed 24 episodes that will air Tues-Thurs for 8 weeks.
