If anyone is interested in checking out Gmail, send me a PM with your name and email address and I'll send you an invite. I'm not sure how many I can send out (doesn't tell you) so it'll be first come, first serve. When I get more though, I'll send them to the next person.
Edit: Oh, it does say. I have one invite currently. There will be more, though.

Umm 1 gig of mail space, with no listed bandwidth limitations is cool all by itself!
A Gmail account may be the last email account I would ever need, and I would be glad to get away from rotating ISP's. My primary email addy (friends and family access) has changed 5 times in 10 years and it is a hassle. Not to mention with a gig of storage, you could handle a lot of back email. I have a 100mb pst file from my conversations via email with my wife last year alone.

I have 2gb with my Yahoo account so .. That's not a selling point. With cool features of its own like Address Guard (create disposable email addresses). I wouldn't use any online email service to store my email. I have privacy concerns with the whole gmail thing so I'll be staying far away.

Basically what it comes down to for me. But I'm not saying people shouldn't use it. Freewill and all that nonsense. The hard truth is if you are concerned about your privacy, 3rd-party hosted web based e-mail may not be right for you.
.PST + CD Burner = Nice offline archive. I'd much prefer to manage my own email retention. And no inserted targeted advertisments! Additionally the bandwidth limitation on Gmail is 10MB.
If anyone needs an account that the others couldn't help, PM me your first/last name and current email.
Their more info Gmail page says nada on it.

From their help pages...
What's the maximum message size limit?
You can send and receive messages up to 10 megabytes (MB) total. Any message that exceeds this limit will not be delivered to your inbox and will be returned to the sender. If you attempt to send an email that exceeds this limit, you will get an error message and your email will not be sent.
Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.
No no, that is a message limitation, bandwidth!noel wrote:From their help pages...What's the maximum message size limit?

Like how many 10MB messages can I send in a 24hour period, or a 30 day one?
Can I send and receive a gig a day? or 50MB a day. Buying hosting space is cheap, transferring it is expensive.

I'm curious how fast it transfers files. You people do realize that to upload files to your email it will still be at your pokey upload speeds and however fast gmail accepts them.
I don't understand the need for huge storage in email. Is is nice to be able to send larger files to people without using a chat app. Mail is so pokey though.

No thanks! I don't want my emails scanned for keywords. It's free, because while you read your mail, Google ads will be displayed based on keywords found in the mail you are reading
The only big files I'd be moving would most likely be illegal!Google's ad-linking is all done by computer, they promise not to have human beings look at the mail (almost all the time). If only a computer "knows" your deepest secrets, is there a concern? I certainly let my own personal computer contain all sorts of private information, ranging from my finances to private e-mails with my family.

For clarification.. Yahoo! is 100 megabytes storage for the free accounts with a 10 megabyte PER message maximum (just like Gmail). Yahoo! > Google.
By the way, if you really for some odd reason, NEED a 1 gigabyte email account, you can always go over to http://www.spymac.com and sign up for one. They're free.
Google is great for web searches. They can kiss my ass with their tracking.
