Salem's Lot(remake)

Post by Canelek »

On a lighter note than the political crapfest.....

Recently on TNT, a horribly-made TV-movie was remade into a pretty damn decent show.

It seems some $$ was thrown in the right direction and they finally made a good show of SKs fine book. :)

The 79 TV movie was trite and quite frankly, boring. (except for the window scratching!!)

Rob Lowe was simply fantastic in this--he is a helluva actor as always!!! This give so so so so much more credence to the story! :D

I really didn't understand the end that well,

I got that the priest was the new lacky but with the main vampire dead why were all the other vampires still alive? and how come rob lowe's character and the kid went after the priest? was it revenge or did I miss something in there somewhere??

Over all I liked this better than the original.

The end was hard to interpret...and I will not go to spoilers on this thread. Let's just say that what we saw in 1979 did not even hold a candle to this. :)

This was a pretty decent TV movie. Although I got really bugged by every commercial break showing us what was coming next.

I have vague recollections of the earlier one but I thought this was done a lot better than the horrid IT. The book scared the crap out of me but the movie sucked.

Well, some aspects of the TV version of IT were great! However, I don't think any screenwriter could honestly write a screenplay for the book ending...and it showed! :D
